Better Porsche connect app functionality would be great. I haven’t been able to connect to my car for 2 weeks now.
After two years I am unable too (finally ?).
Now one week, still, I want to give it one week more.
Tried everything but no luck.
Only thing left to do is disconnect the 12V battery.
But I'd rather do that on a more convenient time and place...

[Edit] Talking about coincidence...it works again.
Ok, sorry guys but no problems here anymore...yee! ??‍♂

I'm curious how many of those range/battery improvements might apply to my GTS that was delivered last week, or if I already have them
When was your car produced? Do you have the colored icons?

Mine was produced in March and delivered with colored icons. I have all the new features so I think range/ battery improvements are installed from factory on mine. I also have the new power distribution animation on the.central Screen. When driving it shows where te energy is going. When driving with CC only the rear wheels are powered. When accelerating all 4.

I’ve not Heard anything re Spotify integration @02bluesuperro and I’d expect it to be in the release notes if it was part of the update but you never know.
That's kinda weird because it's part of the second-half 2022 MY PCM update that has the colored icons which is presumably what we are all getting. I even have a 2022 so I hope that I'm able to have it.

Music lovers and fans of podcasts who drive the 911, Cayenne, Panamera, and the Taycan will be pleased to discover that PCM 6.0 gives them direct access to Spotify. Customers can link their account directly to their vehicle using their Porsche ID and use the app as a media source.

I saw this drive distribution on the left tube in an older YouTube video. Porsche must have taken it away because mine doesn’t have it, but hopefully once we get the update we’ll get it to see it in the center display. When you’re driving in range mode, does it always only send power to the rear wheels even during acceleration?

No when accelerating it also sends power to the front wheels. Even in range mode.

Excuse my ignorance....
I am Android user so would be keen to know what Android Auto actually does.?

Not something I have ever used (or even looked at) previously.
Where it all started - blast from the past: https://www.computer.org/csdl/magazine/co/2011/05/mco2011050053/13rRUwj7cn9

Don’t over-index on the morbid sounding name - I was fresh out of school and my boss who named it was German ? (wonderful guy though). I often wonder where do the patent royalties from Apple and Google go, since Nokia doesn’t exist anymore as that original entity. But glad to see the impact stay true to our original vision…

I had it working with wired connection only. So you think it should work over blue tooth on a 2020 model?
CarPlay actually uses both wifi and Bluetooth.
That said, Porsches implementation on my 2020 is garbage (it was delivered via a dealer delivered software update for all 2020s). It only works maybe 30% of the time. I’m hoping this update fixes that bugginess.

You are right.
It was there before (april 2020), when in Range mode only the front wheels were driven, decoupling the rear end.
After the update it doesn't work like this anymore.
It's just AWD all the time, only the amount of power is distributed differently as far as I can see.
I've seen FWD only in Range mode but now it's gone.
My car is a MY20.

Do we know finally if it is going to be pushed via OTA or if an appointment is needed?

In range and normal mode and cruise controle the rear wheels are driven and front wheels decoupled / get no power. At least that what it shows on my centre screen animation.

It definitely does on mine. No issues whatsoever with CarPlay (knocks on wood :CWL:).

Edit: Delivered in August 2020 if that means anything.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never had any issues with CarPlay with my pre-coloured icons MY22. It usually connects within a few seconds and performs as expected.

Regarding the update, I wonder what the part about WLAN tethering actually implies. Doesn’t that already exist in the previous version?
