OTA Software Update (July 17, 2023)!

The correspondence you received doesn't actually say to expect or detail the OTA pending unless I missed it.

Is this not simply a generic email about OTAs and how to process?

If we already received the first OTA update a month ago, and do not receive another one 'after several weeks', is that when we should call PCNA?

I received a same VIn-specific email on 8/31. Later that afternoon my car was saying there was an upgrade to the calendar software. I was driving so I couldn’t download it. I wonder if that’s the update they’re announcing. It seems pretty minor to be sending out an email but maybe?

The email about OTA updates says that download will occur in background as long as the car has data connection and privacy mode is off. Installing the downloaded OTA update is what requires operational readiness to be "off".

Did you later have to OK an install for the calendar update and turn off the car?

Calendar or Map updates no power off or approval required - as and when and on the go.

Significant OTAs - DME motor updates for example - will require a process including power off and car lock to complete, the OTA notes will make this clear and have done so historically.

BTW - here is that notification re the separate unrelated Calendar update - new version. 7.1.8 - apologies re out of focus but grabbed it real quick!

That vehicle notification popped up but forgot to tap it and when I came back to review it it was gone! Now they're just taunting me , or maybe it referred to one of the others listed (actually yes as of course All notifications listed! - more coffee).

If the OTA we're chatting about is indeed a future 'systems' update vs an infotainment update then no as the former will require your consent, stationary parked vehicle and for you to initiate after download to your vehicle.

If you're asking did the most recent infotainment Calendar update somehow change the settings on your Tire P display - don't know - perhaps? Can't recall but have you tried resetting its parameters back to what you had?

I got the charging error two more times. Charged to about 50% and then stopped. Tried in cooler temperature also. Took the car to the dealer for a service appointment today. They said they had to do a software update that was from 2022 and not an OTA update, which was surprising since my car was delivered in June 2022 and I hadn't received any notice about it.

Bigger issue is that beyond my screen shots of the charging error, the dealer wants to replicate it. He wants to either drive the car or have me drive it until it is below 40% and then they will charge the car to see if it happens again. I was surprised they don't have a diagnostic system or the like to figure out if the charger or battery is the issue. He also seemed to suggest the car might have to stay at the dealer for "awhile" while they figure out the issue. Curious if anyone else has experienced this same issue and I could point the dealer towards how others diagnosed and resolved? Thanks.

Do you happen to remember if the icons in your PCM UI are monochome or color? There was a monstrous update in that general era that (among many other things) made the icons color, which is why I ask.

All color. I think mine was one of the early ones that came after that update.
