if you can handle it get a 60 amp circuit installed (48 amp charge rate) -but a NEMA 14-50 will also be fine - specify (as Porsche recommends) the Hubble 14-50/6-50 industrial socket.

If you can handle a 100 amp breaker order the wall unit from Porsche. I have one and it’s amazingly fast.

I have bookmarked this old post for the recurring 'why would you ever need 80A/19.2kW charging?'.
Unfortunately there are still PWCC compatibility issues with non-Porsche vehicles, but I'm otherwise very happy with mine.

I am in the same camp for more amps is not always better for home charging if you have the time as in at night while you sleep. There is much evidence even if you have a 60 amp or 50 amp then downgrading it to the car using the charger is recommended if you have the time.

I am in the process of getting one so if I have 60 amp available, great, but I plan to calculate and downgrade it to 30 amp, for example, if it takes me to my target SOC by the time I am ready to head out.

My choice is Emporia EV Charger that can handle 60amp for direct wire (48 amp to the car) and the only reason is that I like the design and form.

Many electric utilities offer a program where they charge a reduced price or offer an annual credit for allowing them to restrict when you charge your car (usually late at night). The utility will likely only support a few brands of wall chargers. So, if your utility offers the program, and you want to participate, then choose from their approved list of vendors.

Go Chargepoint and never look back. I’ve had zero issues with mines and it’s been excellent and the easiest of install.

Every charger listed above is good, but we went with Chargepoint specifically because of the cable flexibility and the size/shape/heft/ease of use of the charging handle.

I shouldn't make that big if a difference, but we found plugging in every day that we really prefer the chargepoint design.

I feel the same, the cable pliability and ergonomics of the handle are a step above others for sure. In the end they all charge the car pretty well, but these subtle differences are what differentiate these chargers as well as reliability and back end support.

I went with ChargePoint based on positive reviews and installation/ongoing use subsidies from my electric company. Still awaiting for my build to arrive, but have had friends use my charger while visiting with no issues.

Thanks for all the replies. Narrowed it down to the Tesla or wall or plug-in ,
Any idea how much time does the wall box plug-in take to charge the car full.
