I need to replace one of the carbon “wings” on the front of my Taycan Turbo S due to it being cracked by the dealer. They sent me the part to replace and I’m debating taking it to a dealer vs doing it myself.

To replace just the carbon wing bit on the passenger side, does the whole bumper need to be removed? Or can that be removed/replace with the bumper still attacherd?

You need to remove it or you’ll most likely damage the black plastic section that it plugs into it. It’s quite soft.

I have an odd issue with my front bumper/splitter assembly. It looks like the 'wings' got borked somehow and are dislocated from the splitter. I'm hoping to get them mated up the way they should be without pulling the bumper, though from the last few comments above I'm beginning to lose hope. I can't quite figure out what these are fastened to as they still feel quite attached despite the bottom being pretty much totally unclipped. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated!

Below is a picture of the invoice with the part numbers to convert from a stock 4S/GTS front lip on a Sport design front bumper to a Turbo style front lip.
Sorry to be bringing back an old thread.

Does this mean that only taycans with the sport design front bumper can do this lower grill trim conversion or can this be done on the regular Taycan bumper as well with no issue? Thank you!

You can do this with either front bumper, the front lips fit both

Okay awesome! Looking into a 4S without the sport bumper so I will definitely look into doing this conversion. Appreciate the confirmation

Good luck! The attachment points are the same for either bumper and all the contours of the lower bumper are identical between each other. Only the air vent is different without changing the area below.

Looking forward to doing this upgrade. The turbo trim pieces looks tons better.

The only other thing id want to do is to add some kind of tune of that ever becomes available me. Doesn't seem to be any options except for that one tuner in Europe. Not even looking for additional power, just want to have the overboost power available at all times! Doesn't seem like asking for much haha

This has been asked in a couple of threads but no one has given a definitive answer so far.

Does the whole front bumper cover need to be removed in order to remove the bottom front lip and lower grill?

EDIT - I have now created a comprehensive guide on this which can be found here:

Pics look really nice. I can’t seem to see your guide. I’d consider doing this depending on the cost.

quick question for you since you took this off your original. I can pick up non turbo lower lip paint it to body colour.
Would I need to remove the bumper to swap lower lip on a 4S?
Cheers

These are all clips.
You can pry with a wide tool on the underside, work with a leverage.
First unclip the side as well but it's not an easy job, you have to use some force (and there's the risk of breaking things).
With the side free you can get more force/movement on the front.

Here is the finished product, first picture is of the original front lip, and I'm sure all of you already know what that looks like, followed by pictures of the Turbo front lip conversion with the "wings" painted gloss black as my preference to match all the other gloss black on the GTS.

It is a subtle difference for sure, especially going with gloss black instead of body color, but it makes me happy!

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I'm planning to do this.
Is there any reason you did not paint the middle portion? Do you regret not painting that part?
I'm planning to paint that part gloss black but was wondering if there was any particular reason (e.g., not looking good) for not doing it.
