Awesome. So my GTS ST falls into the range. So why the F did it sit at the port for 4 months for the WNT8 or whatever it was called?!?!?

Not entirely following the timeline of enhanced sealant vs bad sealant in comparison to the VIN ranges provided. My car was built in March 2023 before the enhanced sealant was introduced in May 2023, yet it seems my VIN is not in the range... or maybe it's an ID10T error on my part. Either way, I'll wait until October and see if I get a letter in the mail.

Mine was produced in April 2023 and my VIN is not in range while the timeframe is in range. Then I am not following how this recall is so selective, did they use a different process for 3% of the batteries. I am glad I am not in the recall, at least for now, but it does not give me comfort as it does not make sense.

Cars are not produced sequentially- depending on body shape, trim, equipment level and even paint, two consecutive “shells” (or production slots, at the beginning of the process) will end up with different VINs.
The NHTSA report also seems to imply that a specific set of batteries exhibit the issue, which may mean that different batches from the same manufacturer, or even from different/other manufacturers were in production at the same time.

The good thing is that the recall is now officially started, and there is a well-defined process (and scrutiny) for how it should, and will unfold.

Is it just the last 5 digits of the VIN that matter? If so, we're in that range, as I would expect of a car produced in February.

I'd hate to have to drive another crappy base Macan for several months while a new battery is sourced...assuming our Taycan fails the test.

Only US VIN’s affected?
No. The chronology in the report to US NHTSA in post #1 indicates Porsche first found the problem in non-US Taycans.
Read post #8 above.
Also, many reports in this forum in the last 6 to 9 months about Taycans in UK and US being held at dealers until certain information - rumored to be HV battery related - was supplied to Porsche HQ in Germany before being released to buyers, is further support that this battery leakage problem is not confined to US Taycans.
