I suspect the first date is when money was put down reserving that allocation. That's the only thing that makes sense in our case. Our TYD indicates March 3 2022 for Purchase order Confirmed even though we put our allocation deposit down in August 2022. But there was a person waiting on an allocation ahead of us who declined, so that date is when they put down money.
I believe your explanation is correct. I was talking to local dealerships back in 2021 Nov/Dec to see how the allocations were, and finally put a deposit just around Christmas. Maybe it took few more days to reflect in their system.

Interesting. My experience was very different. I put the deposit down in September of 2022, but the "Purchase Order Confirmed" date was set when I got the allocation in February of 2023. From there it was only like ten days to the freeze date.
I suspect I know the answer to that one. I tracked the dates from TYD every time they changed and sometime between Feb 15 and Feb 21st 2023 that order created date changed from the last time the SA put the configuration into the order system to this static date that it is now. Up until then each time we changed the spec the order created date would change after the SA input it into the system. I'm guessing yours locked before Feb 21st?

So, I called Porsche NA and asked whether I can be assured of delivery this month (given push outs for few times already). They were very courteous, but, said the most accurate is what I see online and there are no guarantees. They attributed it to delays at port and that they have no control on it. It’s appalling that there is no update or guarantees of whatsoever. They mentioned that my concerns are documented and will be shared with their HQ.

I agree that Porsche is bad at communicating, but expecting some sort of timing guarantee is ridiculous. Nobody does that because they know that anything can, and does go wrong.

I know. It’s just that the delays beyond certain timeframe starts messing up with plans (though it’s not Porsche’s headache). I did expect it to take about a year (dealer made that clear), but, it is 21 months and counting. MY24 doesn’t have any recalls. Vehicle is sitting at the local port for 2+ months. My post above didn’t include all these details though.

That’s terrible and I know it’s frustrating. Have you considered ditching your order and purchasing a CPO? There are some great discounts right now.

Seems strange that your car is at the local port for so long. Is it not part of the stop sale for battery testing?

Interested to know what you selected to trigger 'Exclusive Manifaktur' to be a specific part of your build (PTS?). I selected some options that were listed as 'Exclusive Manifaktur' but its not had anything specifically list in the build timelines. My (yes short!) delays were caused at Emden due to lorry driver strikes.
So it arrived at the Dealer this afternoon! Pick up tomorrow afternoon all being well!

Mine was 'on a vessel' on the 26/9/23 - so would be approx 10 days to delivery from that point - so that estimate could be about right.

After being held two and a half months at the factory where Porsche AG was supposedly working on the battery (Spoiler alert, they weren't) and being held a month at the dealer waiting for Porsche AG to release the parts and processes to address the recall, the recall was officially removed from our car this morning. (The recall notice was no longer on My.Porsche yesterday, but the email hit the dealership today)

We've tried communicating with Porsche Cars North America concerning the three and half month delay, losing the entire summer with the car, and now it's last year's model. We've requested some form of compensation for the near infinite amount of patience and understanding we've shown. The sticking point is that both the dealer and PCNA feel some compensation or discount is reasonable but the other should be paying it. While this entire delay is Porsche AG's I'm thinking their response is something along the line of Ich spreche kein Englisch.

Maybe we'll have a car on Saturday or maybe we just take our deposit back and walk. I hope we have the car, it's spec is almost exactly what we wanted. But we're honestly ready to be done with this.

I've had previous predictions of August 3, August 25, and September 21. This time they spun the wheel and it stopped on October 6.
Well, October 6 is here, and TYD has given up making predictions and now just says the "next milestone is in sight." Neither my salesperson nor PEC Atlanta admit to knowing what is going on. Why they can't just call up the people at the port of Jacksonville and ask is left unexplained.

Perhaps the web developers over at Porsche should reconsider saying the milestone is "in sight" and instead just say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
