My GTS arrives in a few days so this topic has been playing on my mind. I don’t fancy putting winter or AS tyres on the 21” wheels so having a second set of wheels at 20” makes more sense. I’m leaning towards the tequipment ones rather than aftermarket (not sure why but after market just feels a bit boy racer to me). As mentioned by others above I would have preferred these to come with AS tyres but not sure this is an option. Other than the Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS tyres I mentioned above that are NF0 labelled, Costco can supply Michelin Cross Climate 2 AS in 285/40r20 but there is an 8 week wait, which doesn’t help much but good to know they are a source for next year. I have used these tyres previously and they are good for the winter season.

Is that 2 swaps of wheels, or swapping over the tyres onto original set of wheels?
That's swapping between 2 sets of wheels, IIRC swapping tyres on a single set of wheels was the same monthly storage charge but with only a single "free" swap of 4 tyres per 12 months (seems fair given the greater effort, even if done by a 3rd party).

Agree. I would definitely pay for this service. As it is here where I live, I store my tires myself and change them myself because of the aggravation of taking the tires and the car to the dealer.
I store and change myself for the same reasons. Takes me ~45min per car plus about 30 minute setup/teardown in the garage (take out all tools, then cleanup after). So 2 hrs for 2 cars (probably could do it faster, but I'm usually not rushing it), which is less than making 2 appointments, loading/unloading tires, and waiting for then to be swapped at the dealer. Also I know it's done right, with professional installation I have occasionally found a bolt or two which were over-torqued, tires are not always at the required pressures, and even PCM is not always set to the correct tires either (e.g. got winter tires at a Porsche dealer, they pumped them up to the door sticker spec +/- 1 psi, but PCM was still set to all-season tires half load expecting different pressures).

$240 to store and change per car it's over $480 saved per year for 4hrs of work (2 changes), so $120 per hour after taxes (so decent wage pre-tax, plus there would be sales tax on that too, so an effective $200/hr for leisurely changing tires twice a year, instead of making nothing for more time while driving to and from dealer twice (once per car), then waiting for the tires to be changed, then usually having to adjust tire pressure and PCM afterwards anyways.

I'm musing getting some winter wheels and tyres, and these tyres look interesting...from what I can see the rears at least are N rated, so all was looking good. But...

Here in the UK, the only place I can find that stocks them has the price at £580 EACH!

Are they cheaper on the continent?

And how are you finding them?

I'm a big Michelin fan...but am not sure I'm a fan to the tune of £2k for tyres...and am a bit perplexed that the fronts don't seem to be N rated.

If I'm looking at the correct info, even the rears aren't rated for the Taycan (NF0)- they're NA5, which is for 911s. If so, they're not intended for EVs. (Presumably the 911 has different front size to the Taycan, hence the fronts not having any N rating).
Unless things have moved on, the bottom line is that Porsche haven't approved (and given an N rating to) any winter tyres for the Taycan on 21" wheels. The big question of course is how big a deal is that, but regardless of technical implications it's enough to worry me about compromising potential insurance or warranty claims.

Yep, that's the safest way to not be reliant on even the dealer parts department's advice. Clicking on the tyre icon next to the part number for each wheel and tyre set opens a popup window with the size and datasheet link for each approved brand and separately for fronts and rears. There are usually 2 brands though I don't think you get a choice when you order the complete wheel and tyre set.

I had a choice of Pirelli or Bridgestone with the Winter wheel-and-tyre set. Same wheel design, two different part numbers.

I couldn’t see any Michelin 21” tyres with NF0 markings here in the UK (Summer, Winter or All Season).

I know.

And yet I'm sure they're OK in other markets (the Pilot Sport 4S).

No I do not believe Michelin have released any 21 inch tyres NF0 as yet. They may be testing for approval , but so far none commercially available.

Just mounted Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 on 21 inch, non NF0 indeed, but I do believe when it comes to a dispute on any potential warranty issue in the future, a buyer has a lot of rights.

In my case, I use original Cross Turismo wheels with 305-30-R21 back setup and 265-35-R21 in front, the same width as the summer set up.

So what could possibly be wrong mounting these quality tires on 21 inch rims? Michelin is a quality brand....on original rims...what warranty dispute...don't think such a claim would hold in any court.

I want to drive 21 inch in winter...and oh yeah, 22 inch in summer. Oops non NF0 either.
