Kyle walks you through the tremendous number of options available on the new J1.2 Porsche Taycan Facelift in the Porsche online configurator. He shares his opinions about what matters and what doesn't and where you should spend the money / hold back. Enjoy!

Let’s see:

- he’s not a dealer, so doesn’t really know what sells/not
- he hasn’t bought one with his own money; instead, drove a lot of press freebies, so he can’t have an opinion on which is worth what

This guy is so full of himself, that he thinks Porsche dialed back the “comfort” suspension on the new Taycan because of his feedback from a short ride in the new Panamera. All wrapped in some fake modesty: “we don’t know, maybe”, but he took the time to edit in said drive. I don’t think I’ll ever watch a second of his stuff ever again.

There is zero value to this video, he just goes so fast skipping through options without explaining any pros/cons or compromises. I have yet to see a video of Taycan option overview that is more than what you see is what you say with depth of truly comparing look/feel or drive with an option or without. Waste of time.

This video is the absolute antithesis of how I approached the topic.

I don't want one person's opinion about everything. I instead collected as many opinions from as many people as I could read about what they felt passionately about about one or two specific options (everybody has a few). Then I tried those opinions on and thought about which ones resonated with me.

I figure if the most committed advocates for roll cage stability or glass roofs on the internet can't make a case I find convincing, then I don't value that option.

But anybody who wants to outsource the entire options process to any arbitrary rando is, IMHO, doing it wrong.

I have no intention of watching that video. I think I can manage that task without his help, thank you.

Are you sure? Let me tease you with some click baits:

- I specced the car and you won’t believe what happend!
- Did I discover a Porsche trick to get a discount? Watch until the end!
- OMG, I saved 100.000$ with this simple trick on a Porsche Taycan Turbo S!
- I discovered that the facelift is bigger than thought when I specced this car!
- 5 spec tricks Porsche doesn’t want you to know.

Did it help?

Oh, are you a YouTube reviewer as well? I'm going to need to see some credentials.

On the topic of Kyle though. Didn't his wife get a Taycan? I think he knows some things about the car, but not all of his videos are that informative honestly, and, of course, plenty of click bait to go around. These videos are there to generate hype as Porsche really does want it so they can sell these cars, I just feel these kind of videos appeal to people who aren't about to drop 100k plus on this kind of car.

Don’t pile in on Kyle. He is a decent bloke. 15 mins in he points out the base 8 way seats are superb and you don’t need more even though we ‘forum guys’ talk ourselves into upgrading.
Useful information.

Yes, Out of Spec incorporated have bought a Neptune 2WD Taycan.
It was nominally for his new girlfriend Anna but is featured often on the channel such as in Race to Vegas.
It’s more of a company vehicle.

He is very knowledgeable on technical aspects such as charging and specifications although he made mistakes on the Taycan ll launch video he made a month before launch when he was guessing a bit.

I think he is ok for a Yank and that’s from a Limey!!

My only criticism is he did a long introduction to a recent video with a large piece of gum between his right molars angled to camera. Couldn’t take my eyes off it. Stopped listening.
Not a good look.

Karl is ok, but definitely a bit Marmite

His video's are often interesting and informative, but you need to pick which ones you watch and this is one to avoid

I do find him to be very arrogant at times and I question how he treats women at times in his videos, if you watch carefully. I think he generally means well, but comes with a health warning

Anyway, spec your car as you see fit and what your budget allows, that's your prerogative

He has. I watched his reviews in 2022 when I was ordering mine. He was driving CT4 that time.
He is maybe not the biggest Prsche fan, but an enthusiast of Taycan. I found valuable hints in his videos.
