The electric heater and battery sealing failures are somewhat understandable, it's new processes and the third party vendors and Porsche don't have a great deal of history. Flexible brake hoses have been used since the invention of hydraulic brakes so this is a bit more concerning. I really doubt Porsche screwed up with the specifications, I expect the vendor is going to have a big expense to replace all of the front brake hoses on every Taycan everywhere.

If I'm reading that recall notice right, it's for 31,000 Taycans (every one ever sold in the US) and 5% of them are anticipated to have defective brake hoses.

It’s weird to see that they recall 2025 Taycan as they have just out from factory…
It sounds like they don't have a fix yet, which means they might not have the new hoses in stock yet, so producing the car with old hoses and retrofitting them before they crack makes more sense than stopping production.

I'm reading it to say that in specific driving situations (suspension, steering, possibly terrain) the hoses bend to the minimum radius (and no hose will function past that point). It also says they re-evaluated design, market-specific configurations and that the fix is a hose with an increased bend radius. This sounds to me like an admission of unsafe specification (to the suppliers), and so Porsche is on the hook/at fault.

It sounds like they don't have a fix yet, which means they might not have the new hoses in stock yet, so producing the car with old hoses and retrofitting them before they crack makes more sense than stopping production.
The NHTSA report says the fix (hoses with increased bend radius) has been implemented in production starting with 13th of May (of this year).

You can try getting ahead of the rush and asking your service advisor if you can get on their schedule? My advisor said dealers are supposed to get notified July 3rd, and scheduled me for July 15th even though my VIN is noted listed, yet.....

Or wait a bit before takinig your car in to allow the techs to learn from their mistakes on the first VINs they work on...

I assume this impacts every Taycan manufactured up until May 13 – and not only US market vehicles ?
They are essentially saying brake hoses were not rigid enough in some cases - not clear which circumstances exactly stress the hoses. 5% of US Taycans, 1% worldwide (from an article posted here earlier). As of 5/13, all new Taycans have the stiffer brake hoses.

edit: all cars have the same hoses, but only 5 and 1% respectively are expected to exhibit hose failure. Again, not clear which cars, why or how they determined this.

I love how the report mentions there was one accident at 120 km/h due to this but they were speeding. As if 120 km/h isn't a totally legit speed on many roads.

"Our manufacturing defect caused an accident but it's totally okay guys ... as the car was going faster than the posted speed limit at the time.".
