Porsche estimates only 2% of the ARB6/ARB7 VINs have a defect.
@SergeyIndy, as Inspector Dirty Harry Callahan says, 'You've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?'

I plan on my first long trip of the ownership next week with 2% giving me pretty good chances. I think charging to 100% for anyone in ARB6/7 may be a good thing for Porsche to uncover faulty modules potentially faster, since they do not know what modules went into what cars and need the cars to produce data to detect them. The risk for me is that I am going to my son's graduation and getting stuck with a red circle of death or worse in the middle of a rural area will not be a good thing. I plan to stop and charge every 100 miles to mitigate any charger issues along the way.

+ There is a dealer in the area where I am going that sells luxury brands including Porsche, so I called them hoping they have a DC charger to use. They said, ours has been broken for a year. They only have a charger in the bay where they prep cars for sale. I thought any dealer selling EVs must have DC fast chargers available for customers. I guess not in Kingsport, Tennessee.

They have them, just broken.

it’s the same all over Europe. Any time I go on a longer drive, it the car suggests porsche destination charger, I just change it right away. So far, out of 13 different porsche destination chargers I have tried in 2024, 13 have been “broken”.

It annoys me to no end that I can’t somehow block them from ever being planned on my routes, as they are always broken. I have a feeling they never actually worked, or that dealerships simply cut power to them unless they use them for their own fleet

I bought my PB equipped Taycan for a specific use case of a 190 mile commute between houses without stopping for charging, therefore an 80% charge would be unworkable.
There's a class action lawsuit, I imagine if successful it would be compensation for DC charging outside of the free period.
May trade it in anyways for a GMC EV pickup that would do triple duty; commute, tow GT4, and home backup.

So just to confirm, if my $7.6k (down from the original $17.8k) raccoon repair is completed in the next week or so, no sense leaving the car with the dealer for ARB7, since any on-site recall work will not be undertaken until some unknown time in early 2025.

I got my letter - while my '23 CT 4S is in for the brake recall.
I asked the dealer if they would do both at the same time. No response so far.
The number of Taycan recalls is becoming an embarrassment at this point.

also got ARB7 letter today. To confirm, there is nothing to do until Porsche notifies you to come in?

you can try to convince to swap your car for a 2025 Turbo Cross Turismo with a minimum of $200k msrp until ARB7 can be addressed.

I just got my ARB7 letter. It says nothing to do for now (no 80% limit) and that they're keeping an eye on my telemetry and will let me know if anything comes up or I have to do anything.

Just called in for what I thought was just the brake recall but apparently I have four open recalls! Fingers crossed they don’t find some mini dent on the underbody and charge $40k or some ridiculous amount to release my car.

What age are these ARB7 cars?
In the U.S. ARB6 & ARB7 apply to cars manufactured between Oct 21, 2019 through Feb 1, 2024. ARB5 (cars with a known battery problem) are from Nov 7, 2019 through June 13, 2023. No clue why the date ranges aren't the same but it would seem the ARB recalls cover just about every U.S. Taycan manufactured from the start of production until Feb 1, 2024. Most likely to be the same in the U.K. as there is probably no difference in the battery chemistry or manufacturing.

Battery manufacturer at fault? Maybe vehicle cooling system is inadequate? Maybe vehicle power draws from battery are out of spec? Maybe vehicle assembly process results in damage? And who knows what else outside of the battery may contribute to the problem.
