No new information, but the story has been picked up by the main UK press, in this case the Telegraph:

Not sure if you will be able to use this link from Apple News, but I’ll try anyway, and if not I’m sure Google will work!

I'd suggest NOT reading the comments below the article - typical Telegraph readers anti-EV rhetoric from people who clearly have never driven one.

I wasn't at all tempted to reject my recent purchase even if it was stuck with dealer, but I am now.

Also got the ARB6 recall communication in the Porsche Connect app this week. Good they’ve done this, even if belated.
There’s no mention of charging restrictions, but these differ according to each regulator’s requirements.
Also the mention of new/used car seems unnecessary and muddled. And the Effects code is meaningless.

Contacted Porsche Customer Relations and also VWFS(car is on PCP thankfully!) a few weeks ago wth concerns about reliability, lack of courtesy cars, lack of solution to the 80% charging issue etc and also about current advice.
Eventually got this back....couldn't believe it especially the parts about my home charger:

Thank you for your email and I apologise for the delay in responding to your concerns.

I will try to address your points as best I can, so please see below:

We appreciate the outstanding recall is frustrating, and I am sorry to read that you have not received regular contact from Porsche Centre Glasgow - I will be sure to feed this back to them. They are also not required to provide courtesy cars in this instance, as the vehicle is deemed as driveable.

Further to that, as the vehicle is still classed as driveable, it is actually an offence under the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 for a business to sell or distribute a vehicle which has an outstanding recall in place.

The recommendation is to use public charging wherever possible and to move your home charge point if that is also possible. However, provided your vehicle is charged to 80%, this massively reduces any possible risk.

Pretty sure based on that last sentence you can sue for a buy back, if you can be arsed to go through the trouble. The car is not fit for purpose, as it was never advertised as "not chargeable next to buildings".

Or better, maybe ask if Porsche covers the costs of moving the home charger as Porsche advises.

It's frankly ridiculous. The only was I could move my charger far enough away to meet their requirements would be to have it free standing away from my house on the public pavement !

@Abdul
The ARB6 charging location restriction applies only until you’ve had the first of the regular 60 day inspections. Once inspected/if inspected every 60 days the only charging restriction is the 80% max.
The inspection takes under 1hr and can occur while you wait.
But now the BMS software has been released getting your dealer to add that is the next step and that will remove all charging restrictions.

Thanks and I agree. However, the problem is the OPC cannot accommodate the number of cars that require the 60 day check!

When was the BMS software released?

Indeed @chun, my car is an example, by coincidence it went in for ARB6 and 111 check for warranty on Friday of last week and they said the new BMCe update was installed. Orange triangle is still on my app, but they said it would be for a few days until Porsche "claim" the campaign whatever that means.

Hi Leccy61

Could I ask if you managed to get the warranty applied after your 111 point check and BMCe software install?

I am booked in for this at the beginning of August, so am very interested on your experience.

Thanks in advance

Neil
