Wow, amazing news, Derek, and a 2023 model like mine. I was not looking forward to taking my car to the dealership for this, although they treat me really nice with over the top service and care.

I am hoping mine will appear soon and will not break anything that is currently working!

Yes, especially since ARB6 was supposedly for Taycans without the ability to upload battery status data to Porsche OTA.
Sometimes I think Porsche is just messin' with us.

Good to see Porsche's confidence in their OTA process increasing to be able to (presumably) update the BMS remotely. That is a pretty core bit of software and control unit on an EV.

I had the same thought. Getting it right saves them thousands of service visits so the stakes are high.

Agreed. And saves you getting pitched on a base model Macan EV while you drop it off!

If it spots a problem, generate the same old red/yellow electrical error?​

Restrict/limit the car's ability to charge?​

Stop you in your tracks the next time you break that charging port flap?​

Nobody knows! It makes me want to push charging to the extremities to see if something gets tripped.

Its a great question and we don't know. Porsche usually uses the euphemism "further optimised" for these kind of updates – nice and vague.

My hunch tells me that red/yellow electrical errors is the target for this.

The intent was the following:

- Monitor cell health in real time
- Notify if issue found with new message (not generic)
- Limit charging to 80%
- Advise to see workshop

As soon as that is available to me, I will be doing the rebalance procedure that gets the cells stressed enough at empty and at 100% for the new software to pick up any issues combined with my usual CarScanner data scans of the cells for SoC, Temp, and Voltage.

Maybe @DerekS and @Evocati443 are PCNA involuntary/unpaid beta testers for ARB6/ARB7 BMS software fix.

hi that's me. i received mine ARB6 yesterday on the way home from the beach. what's strange is that the letter i got back in Nov 2024 stated that i was under the ARB7 category. But the update that got pushed to my car was ARB6. I think there's a lot of confusion going around. the recall letter particularly mentioned that both ARB 6/7 are under the same category. but only some cars that do not have OTA will need to go in for regular checkups and will be instructed to charge up to 80%. my letter paricularly has a rectangle box highlight that stated they will monitor my car and notify me if there is an anomaly. It made sense to me since mine does have OTA capability and has been receiving updates since. I deduced all of this to be that your car can be the ones with or without OTA Update but still be under ARB 6 or 7.

I did a bit more research this morning to identify the distinction between ARB6 and 7 and found that 6 just means that Porsche does not have sufficient data over the air to determine the high voltage anomaly, 7 means that they DO have sufficient data and have determined that there's NO anomaly. Maybe because i don't drive my car all that much that initially when i got it last year as a pre-owned, there was enough data, but i haven't been driving much since and there's not enough data anymore? i don't know, it's all just my guess. But ARB5 is the only most worrisome recall that applies to population that DO have sufficient voltage data and subsequent anomaly has been found. Obviously this is the group that will require farther module replacement on top of the software monitor update.

anyway, this is just what i found. frankly i think all this is just confusing.

also i went online this morning to my local deal's website. normally when i attempt to schedule an appointment, an outstanding recall notification for my vehicle would pop up. I no longer see that notification anymore.
