Interesting finds!

I drive my car a lot (daily driver) and have always had OTA on.

It would be a welcome relief if ARB7 is an all-clear.

From the the sound of it. Base on what I read, ARB7 seems to be the lowest risk group. But like all things, doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. But thats what the new software monitor supposed to do: warn the driver and locks the charging max to 80% and tell you to go in for repair.

Yes, especially since ARB6 was supposedly for Taycans without the ability to upload battery status data to Porsche OTA.
Sometimes I think Porsche is just messin' with us.
Journey frequency and duration were factors as well as connectivity. Mine dropped off in the winter months from Dec to March and I was bumped down into ARB6, but still got the OTA BMS update.

I just checked my ‘23 GTS. It says software is up to date. I suppose somewhere in settings I could find the software version?

Based on previous OTA updates, I expect this one will also be rolled out gradually to Taycans. For the last OTA, it took about two weeks after the first reports on the forum before I received it myself.

So this new software won’t limit you to charge to 80% max unless it detects & determines there is a problem, limits charging percentage and directs you to schedule the repairs/replacement with your dealer?

That's the assumption. It's unknown. Porsche hasn't released official "path notes" and there haven't been any cases where someone with the software has issues yet.

Per Porsche's "Part 573 Safety Recall Report 24V-732".
Emphasis is mine. Looks like Porsche knows exactly what they want the monitoring software to do. Not a cure at all, but a warning system to avoid bigger problems.

"As a final remedy (for both ARB6 and ARB7), an on-board diagnostic
software will be installed on affected vehicles to detect future battery
module anomalies.

Before the on-board diagnostic software is installed on affected vehicles,
the high-voltage battery modules will be analyzed. If this analysis shows
no anomalies, the on-board diagnostic software will be installed. If this
analysis shows anomalies, the affected high-voltage battery module will be
replaced prior to the installation of the on-board diagnostics software.

Once installed, the on-board diagnostic software will use data analytics to
detect future anomalies in high-voltage battery modules. If an anomaly is
detected, the vehicle will display a warning message in the head unit and
will limit the high-voltage battery charging capacity (in a first step to 80%
and – after a certain time – to less than 80% presumably 50%). Affected
high-voltage battery modules will be replaced.
As the high-voltage battery
consists of several modules, it can be possible that different modules show
data anomalies leading to the replacement of several modules"

Now that your car has the ARB7 "remedy", what is it actually going to do?
If it spots a problem, generate the same old red/yellow electrical error?
Restrict/limit the car's ability to charge?
Stop you in your tracks the next time you break that charging port flap?
You can charge to 150% now.

Great. That’s what I was expecting. Thanks for confirming.

Take the language in the Recall Report with a fair amount of skepticism. It is a NHTSA document, it was issued October of 2024, and is captioned "Description of Remedy Program". It all sounds like what Porsche told the NHTSA they were going to do. But it seems to be the best indication of what the software is supposed to do absent anything specific directly from Porsche.
