this is unclearThey "suggested" that I don't use it at home.
I used my Lectron Vortex Plus at a Tesla Supercharger today for the first time. Smooth connect and was getting 129 kW. This will make it easier for long trips. Thankfully, I ordered my 2021 CT with the 150/400 charger.

This. They really don’t know much about this space yet.dealer BS “ac kicking in that killed it “ utter BS - the AC power pins are not even present in these adapters
really really made up sh*t - new record for clueless
lets spew words together to make it sound like we know what we are talking about

That's not completely correct, the adapter(s) do not limit charging speed - they can not - they are very simple devices that just passively pass electricity through to the vehicle.
charging speeds are always affected by various factors outside your control
this is normal electrical system resistances - that doesn't mean the adapter is not passive. That's not completely correct,
If the adapter introduces resistance and that as a result makes the plugs heat up, some cars will stop charging due to high plug temperatures, here is a pretty good example of a bad adapter/extender:
This is why 400v systems are not great and practically obsolete , they introduce very high current for very long time that leads to things heating up.
,800/1600v systems are much better at supplying peak current for shorter times due to car battery limitations.

Unless you have the optional 400V 150 kW onboard charger, it really won't matter whether it is the Lectron or Porsche (or other manufacturer's adapter), you'll be limited to 50 kW. If you do have the 400V 150 kW onboard charger, then you can charge up to 150 kW, regardless of which adapter you have.Don’t know whether it will be any better, but Porsche is now making available for purchase their own CCS/Tesla adaptor. You can soon order it for $185 in the Porscheusa.com online store. I tried to order one and was told they are not yet available, but that I will be notified when they are. BTW, 2025 and 2026 Taycans get the adapter free.
not entirely true - but mostly correct - the current state of fast chargers with NACS charging cords are mostly (99%) Tesla Superchargers @ 400V…Unless you have the optional 400V 150 kW onboard charger, it really won't matter whether it is the Lectron or Porsche (or other manufacturer's adapter), you'll be limited to 50 kW. I have a 2021 Taycan with the optioned 150kw/400v adaptor and the Vortex Lectron adaptor.the adapter(s) do not limit charging speed - they can not - they are very simple devices that just passively pass electricity through to the vehicle.
charging speeds are always affected by various factors outside your control
Tesla Superchargers are 400V DC superchargers - maximum charge speed of a 2020-2024 Taycan at any 400V FastDC charger are affected by the type of 400V DC Booster installed at the factory - there are two 400V Boosters possible on a 2020-2024 Taycan
consult your vehicle's build sheet to see which your Taycan has installed. If you do not have 150 kW booster, your maximum charge speed at any 400V Fast DC charger (like superchargers) will be 50 kW. Hint: if the 400V/150 kW DC booster is not listed on your vehicle's build sheet you have the standard 50 KW booster.
- 50 kW 400V DC Booster
- optional 150 kW 400V DC Booster
2025 and later Taycans, and all Macan's EV's have taken a different approach to 400V charging and no optional booster is required for 150 kW/400V charging support…
this article from Porsche is very helpful for all things charging…
