All the old exec cars at Stevens Creek Porsche have the same weird 1/2 bra. At first I thought someone keyed them, but then I noticed the lines were too perfect.
Old dealer trick - forced 3rd party product, i.e. profit driver. "It's already on the car, you have to pay for it" (not true, but most people are not willing or able to negotiate out of it, might not even notice the $399 line item on a $100K car).

I see they are Opticoat Pro+ certified, do you know if they install the latest Opti Sheild product that is much thicker then a ceramic coating and has ppf like properties?
For ceramic this is what they told me they are doing (I don't know what else they might be willing to do):

Ceramic Coating
DQuartz Pro Ceramic Coating - 5 Year Warranty

Includes:
  • Prep, Hand Wash, Clay, and Decon
  • Full Two Stage Paint Correction (Compound/Polish)
  • Coat All Exterior Paint
  • Coat All Glass, Trim, Wheels In & Out, Brake Calipers
Ceramic coatings provide superior safeguarding against environmental threats and the sun's UV radiation compared to conventional wax. They additionally exhibit resilience to chemical stains and a measure of scratch resistance, resulting in a glossy appearance for the vehicle and simplifying the cleaning process.

Interior Coating
CQuartz Fabric and Leather

We have the option of doing the interior with CQuartz Leather and Fabric protection you could read about here if you like for an additional $500 and that includes the prep work of a full interior detail.

I would remove the wheels and look before attempting hard stops. Could be a little rock or something stuck between the calipers, pads/ disc? could also be a misaligned brake pad or piston failing to retract, loose guide pins?

I highly recommend to do front PPF, the hood and bumpers collect rock chips very quickly, the windshield is also soft and sensitive, i would do the UltriFit product for that.

Diagnosis was the pads and rotors are new, and haven’t achieved their polished state yet.

I guess the pad is slightly dragging the rotor and will smooth out with time.

Accepting this for now.

I’ve got 19k on my GTS with PSCB. They aren’t mirrored yet. Apparently they shouldn’t necessarily become fully mirrored if you are doing regular hard stops - tends only to happen if you only ever lightly use them.
Not experienced the noises you mention. Hope it’s an easy fix.
When I got the car new I was keen to bed them in and get the regen enabled. I did 3 80mph to 10 mph stops in a row and that seemed to do the trick! Heh.

Maybe it was some kind of demo or press car.

I’ll get the 1/2 steamed off and do it right, but I’m new (ish) to the area and don’t have a trusted shop yet. I had one I’ve used for decades in Dallas that I loved and trusted with every car.

Need a place that does it right; rolls the edges, doesn’t use pre-cut kits with gaps etc.
It might be from the factory ? I know this is a pic from the 911 configurator but it is available as an option for the Taycan in some markets.

Has regen kicked in at this stage?

I've had same issue since I got my Taycan with new front rotors and pads, after 2 years the friction noise is still there, mine is intermitent like the rotor is bent and touching the caliper when spinning fast.

That is not encouraging and sounds similar in nature to my sound.
It’s not bad; it’s more of a sliding sound than a scraping one. But I didn’t hear it in my base (also PSCB) or my 23 GTS (steel)

Sounds like the car needs a track day. Perhaps ask if that is included in purchase price? ;)

I’ve taken several cars to Premier Protective Film in Fremont for clear film and window tint. They’ve always done an excellent job and I’d recommend them. Cons are that they book months out and are in the higher cost tier. That said, I think they provide very good value given the high quality.

@DerekS I can’t recommend enough https://dynamicdetailing.com/ . Dan the owner throws tons of events and works with Porsche of Club of A and Golden Gate chapter. They have been doing all my cars since I can remember. Their shop is super clean and has one of the best waiting room areas. Check it out.
I went with these guys and locked in an appointment for early January.

I liked that they’ve done many Porsches including Taycans.
