someone should test it :) so we can put an end to the debate with numbers
You would need two Taycans with the same setup. Preferrably both with thermal and noise insulating glass, as without that the difference will be next to nothing.

I am happy to do that just need the equipment. Might ask around see if any of the tint shops around me has one.

good - wife said it was a must

bad - doesn't matter at that point

but in all seriousness, it is not annoying like i expected. it's like ambient lighting at night, it makes the space feel fresh and bright without a noticeable light source. i really expected the sun to be in my face all the time but the factory tint does wonders.

biggest downside is i anticipate that one day in the future that a rock chip on the roof could literally total the car.

These Porsche's seem to have really soft glass in general. I've got several small pits on the windshield and one on the VPR. Very annoying... Maybe a reason to PPF them thought I'm not sure you can with the Pano roof. :\

Can confirm. Every Porsche I’ve ever owned pitted like hell.

Bad: extreme replacement cost if it gets chipped.

I had it chip on two Taycans, one bad enough that the roof needed replacement at 16k.
Did your insurance comprehensive coverage take care of it?

Pro:
Looks great on Chalk Cross Turismos — the Chalk-and-black contrast really works.

I read somewhere here that the glass roof makes the cabin a bit quieter.

It also looks awesome for passengers in the back; without the pano roof it can feel a bit more closed in, though that does add to the sporty vibe.

Con:
it’s not free, and neither are repairs.
Probably hotter in the summer and colder in the winter.

Bad:-
It is personal but I think the sculpted ally roof in body colour looks MUCH better than a bland expanse of black.
For the driver you don't even know it is there.
It is heavier.

Good:-
if you like blacked out rear windows it makes the interior less dark.

I didn't want it because I don't like the look or feel of radiation on my head (I have had glass roofs before and didn't like it).
I really much prefer the look but I must say, when I have had a loan car during service or recall they have all had glass roofs and from inside, driving I haven't even noticed it at all but on the outside I just think it doesn't look (anywhere near) as good.

I owned 3 Taycans and without a doubt I would not spec it when I build a new one in the future. The lines are far better without the glass. Especially in a lighter color.

I don't have a lot of hair so I definitely am sensitive to radiating heat or cold from glass roofs in general - my ID.4 was bad in that respect.

Surprize - not so with the Taycan - they did a good job insulating it.

Interestingly in summer it does get hot to the point of one being unable to keep the hand on it (yet not unpleasant for the head) - but only when standing still. Get back on the road and it gets lukewarm due to the airflow..

PS: I'd be really careful with the Seasucker bike racks on the 14k worth of glass. They stick like crazy, incredibly so, but I've had the glass crack under the pressure on another car.

The difference between a tin roof and a glass roof is just 2–3 °C.
You hardly notice it, but the difference in light is worth the money to me.

“Just 2-3C” is about 5F in difference. That’s a lot in the States.
