Would be interesting to hear from others as with the limited reply so far I can clearly see two camps. At the moment, I am in the camp of asking them to replace the air filter and reset the minder to clear the "replace brake fluid" notice since it was done last year. They have recall work to do anyway.
If you want to save a few more bucks you can ask them for the cost of the air filter and compare to suncoast Porsche where I got mine so it was “official” parts, but it was cheaper by $50.

I'm at 35K miles and changed the cabin filter and wiper blades myself about the same time as the brake line recall (23K miles). My service rep did a service reset to 43K miles as part of the last battery-related recall. They also did a full inspection. Zero cost.

This is why I said find yourself a friendly rep and dealership. You can get it done for $0 in some cases.

We can send you to the thread but this is the quickest. Happy to help you over the phone with the process.

Steps: 2 plastic pins hold the trim, so you need a plastic edge tool to pull on the middle to loosen them, then it is simply a snap off of the cover, note air flow of old filter!, and replace.
https://rennlist.com/forums/taycan/1259681-2020-taycan-cabin-air-filter-change.html

This is the best one that I use that just recently in stock and 10x better than OEM and I bought 2x and should have bought more as when they are out of stock it may be a long time:

My view, replace every 1 year or no more than 10k miles or you are breathing mold.

Given that I am more DIY than the vast majority of those on this forum, I would offer that the service is as much about ease of reselling as it is about maintaining your vehicle’s safety and performance. I can do all of the regular maintenance items myself but have opted to pay the “tax” and get the service because a modern Porsche without an official service history can be a pain later on. Given that the Taycan is based on the Panamera, if you can maintain its ICE counterpart, you can easily handle the Taycan too if you wanted to.

They do more than that and you can reference the Maintenance Journal that came with the car and the typical cost is accurate, which is to say just because you do not drive a car that needs an oil change we will get you with our labor rate. How can you miss your headlamp alignment :whatsgoingon:

It takes longer to put the car on and off the lift than to do those visual inspections. That's 30 minutes including documentation time. This type of sheisterism makes me push harder for the manufacturer direct to consumer model like Tesla/Rivian.

If you're selling to a Porsche enthusiast, perhaps they may care the service was performed so that the dealership servicing history is uninterrupted in its history.
How much more do you think a Porsche enthusiast will pay for having the official service checkmark, vs. having individual services done (which is also on the car history)?

I skipped the 2 year service (even though I have it pre-paid, will try to use it for 4 years, pay a difference if there is one) as everything other than cabin filter, which I can change myself, was already done as part of recalls and repair visits.

Your car would compete with a comparable CPO car. Many of us here has an enthusiast spec (GTS, Turbo S), which I think having records carries some weight, though likely not anything material.

In the past I've bought many cars as the 2nd or 3rd owner, and those cars having uninterrupted original maintenance plans service by the dealership (BMWs) provides me a sense of security of the quality of ownership. But we're talking about oil changes, fluid changes, brakes, etc.

It's probably less important for an EV. If I were to purchase this as a 3rd owner, I would only care when the last brake fluid flush was performed and whether rotors and pads will need to be replaced. Things like cabin air filter is less important.

I did this myself, and reassembly was much more difficult than anticipated!

The question for me is whether paying and wasting time for unnecessary services would ever pay for itself, i.e. if I spend $3K for services, is the next owner willing to pay extra $3K plus interest for this record, vs. just seeing recalls or repairs done and the same service performed? I suspect there are very few second hand owners who would say "yea sure, I will pay say an extra $3K for a paper record of services I know were already been done as part of the other services I have a record of". Now, very few doesn't mean none, but I'm not going to hope I actually find that one that is willing to shell out extra money for the paper trail. If there is an identical car in identical shape but with complete service paperwork selling at the same time, sure, it might sell first, but given there were only 256 total 2023 Taycan Turbo CT's build for the US market (so less than 3 per state), I am not holding my breath an even similar one will be selling at the same time as I'm selling mine. ;)

I view it more of shared warranty cost. IMO, the most important part of this inspection is the drain lines and drain plugs. If this service is not performed and water accumulates and infiltrates a critical component, your warranty may be and probably will be denied.
The battery tray drain plugs are the most critical part of this inspection and are known to clog. They are blown out and cleared of debris.

If an owner wants to lower the cost, change out your wipers and cabin air filters. Buy a brake fluid tester to determine the water % in the brake fluid. If it is in spec, then skip it. There is no need to change fluid that contains an acceptable level of moisture. If you are tracking the car or engaging in spirited driving that is heating up the fluid, then flush and change according to test results. Personally, I always thought Porsche 2 year brake flush was a bit excessive for normal driving.

Thanks everyone! I replaced the filter on my own and if there was a "proud of myself" emoji I'd splash it across this post. Here is a pic of what I removed. I am at 40K miles. I assume it was replaced by Porsche before during regular maintenance? Still, this is a lot of yuk and glad I did it. My back is not so sure!

My brake fluid already replaced due to the recent recall. From what I can tell the only part replaced in this proposed service is an air filter. Everything else is visual check: seat belts, wipers, horn (not making this up). They check brake pads without removing the tires. I can do most of this myself. Can someone please try to convince me that this is worth the cost, without the sarcasm that I can take my chances without it.
Negotiate it down.

On my first Taycan I supplied my own wiper blades and pollen filter from Suncoast, and asked them to test the fluid, only replacing it it needed it. It didn't. Cost me under $300.

On the second I installed my own pollen filter and wiper blades, reasoning that with the large depreciation hit I'd already taken, spending more money on the car was good money after bad.

Of course then I got stupid and bought another new Taycan, so what the hell do I know.
