I don't think they make CE and DD anymore.
CE can not be ordered, it is replaced with DD.
DD can be ordered.
DE can also be ordered.

I asked what the difference between these hardware's are, and the answer was: no idea :D.
My own asumption, the difference is what software they come preinstalled with (3882, 4360 and 4578)
The MY26 part number is completely different and most likely the hardware is different because Porsche says it has upgraded compute.

It is quite likely that BF, DD and DE are the same part with different software though.

So if I ask Porsche to replace my PCM (CE currently) I will get a DD or DE? Any chances I will get a unit with app center?

They won’t replace it tho’

The reason they do replacements on j1.1 right now is because they have no solution for the navigation issue.

J1.2 has 0 issues requiring a replacement.

They also say that they have OTA, and much other bullshit :) So I wouldn’t trust every word.
Does not say anything about OTA in that press release.
Taycan fully supports OTA though, they just don't use it very often ...

It could for sure be newer hardware, but that doesn’t automatically result in compatibility issues. It could also just be more porsche bullshit :D
As I said, from my experience the MY26 PCM is much snappier than MY25 while being basically exactly the same from the layout, so I don't think they optimized anything, just added more raw power.

PCM software update last week because I reported the nav/charge related crashes. Only used nav for short journeys since and it hasn’t crashed, but this is different, it was crashing after a few minutes.

PCM software 3885
Hardware H9J1035070AG
Navigation package

I’ve been using Porsche’s nav during recent trips, with over 1000 miles in the last 2 weeks including a 10hr drive 10 days ago, close to 600 miles, and no issues thankfully.

Question, for those with PCM 3885, do you have the feature where you can select preferred charging operators?

No, this comes with 3892 - which gives the navigation from 2025/2026 taycans to 2020-2024 taycans - to address the navigation issues that were happening in Europe.

thanks guys and @chun @prj does it mean all v3885 (J1.1 2020 in my case) can be updated to 3892 by Porsche ?

Bonus : if we could pay to replace by the latest hardware PCM and it still came with the 10 year included PCS, it could be a good motivation, but I understand they won't offer the upgrade even if you pay, only if there's an unsolvable issue with navigation (mine works fine regretfully lol)

i just inquired about updating to 3892 and showed them the TSB. Dealer service advisor said likely will update me based on warranty claim of boot screen freezing. US based Taycan here. I'll find out for certain by this time next week.

Success! I received the update to v3892. Based in North America, perhaps this is relatively rare? Features and impressions:

1. The major feature additions are related to the charge planner preferences for CPOs. This is a game changer IMO, especially if you don't have the 400v booster as now you can exclude Tesla sites. This is also very important for roadtrippers who prioritize certain CPOs and high-speed charging (Rivian, Pilot) etc.

2. The overall look of the UI of the map has changed. I can't quite describe exactly what is different but colors and fonts feel different. Enriched CPO site information is now directly on the map. Business information menu is also rearranged, CPO preference shortcut were added if CPO is the business selected.

3. The map's overall responsiveness has improved. It feels zippy when you zoom and move the map.

4. The charge planner's computation appears to be slower now. The more adverse impact is the alternative route suggestions appears to populate slower too. This is likely bc of the new charge parameter filters, bc if the trip doesn't require multiple charging stops on the planner, the computation responsiveness is just as quick as prior version.

5. There is a shortcut to plan a round trip after you start the trip planner. This is a nice feature which allows you to plan for additional charge stops if needed.

Overall if you road trip, don't have the 400v booster and use the native PCM planner this update is a must! I cannot believe I've lived with 3882 for the last 2 years.

Welcome to the wonderful world of facelift software. At least the route planning side of it.
