Not well. First, dealership could not connect iPhone to car (2021 4S) after update. Took another day to figure out. After I got it home, when to charge it and PMCC could not communicate with car - had to reset PMCC (no big deal but it happened.) Car worked fine until Monday morning - Connect disappeared - can't login anywhere. Account/Account Management no where to be found on car. Spoke to Porsche NA - have no idea when it will be resolved. Frustrating but at least car is still operational. . . .

Here's some information on Porsche Integrated Workshop Information System (PIWIS).
I know about the PIWIS equipment, have tried to acquire one myself to read fault codes and log files, but too expensive and don't want to buy a shady old laptop with an illegal copy of the software.

The documents I received state Pqis and PIQIS. After searching on Duckduckgo, I found reference to PQIS, for example https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10173090-0001.pdf

Piqis is probably a typo.

My understanding is the following:
- PIWIS is the actual tool (computer) they connect to the car to read data and perform software updates.
- PQIS stands for Porsche Quality Information System. It is the internal system (like a database) they use to record the service history and pending campaigns for all cars.

- PQIS is the internal system (like a database) they use to find open campaigns and mark any warranty work done. It is basically the system that records the service history and pending campaigns for all cars.
That's how I understand it too...

Appreciate sharing your experience getting the recall update and how long it took and any issues since the update. I’m going on 7/28. Thanks
My Taycan went in for this mega update 1 couple of weeks ago. All ok but to be honest I do not understand why it has to go into the dealership when Tesla have been doing Firmware Over The Air for years. I used the opportunity to get an alloy repaired and the whole process took nearly 2.5 weeks! I love the car but its been 6 weeks in Porsche dealers over a 7 month period...

it's just another one of the failures of the tech items offered by porsche.
while they are able push simple map updates and the like OTA they are either overly cautious or the system is incapable of pushing more complicated updates OTA.
It is just another fail to deliver on their promises.

Like a lot of us, I received the email from Porsche indicating the recall regarding the power loss issue. I also entered my VIN on Porsche's recall web page to confirm and subsequently made an appointment a couple of weeks ago at my dealer for this morning to address the recall notice.

After driving an hour to my dealer, the service advisor told me that the recall affecting my car was performed during the ”stop sale” campaign prior to me taking delivery in early July. I asked if there were any subsequent software or firmware updates available, and he told me that there were none, and I was good to go.

So, here’s the rub: Porsche’s recall database is not up to date for those of us who recently purchased our Taycans. If you received an email indicating the recall and you've recently taken delivery in the last month, the recall is unnecessary. I would suggest calling your dealer to confirm before making your service appointment and driving to your dealer. The service advisor told me it takes Porsche several weeks to reconcile the database of VIN #s and recalls. He also said that they would not perform any software or firmware updates to the car unless authorized to do so by Porsche via a recall regardless if any updates are currently available. He said they wouldn't get paid for the service visit for any proactive updates. This is bothersome because if there are updates available, they should be applied regardless of recall status as they most likely address one issue or another.

This is one area where Tesla kicks ass--constantly pushing out software updates, even if tiny or invisible improvements to the car from the convenience of your garage. I hope Porsche adapts this philosophy sooner rather than later.

Had my AMB5 update today.
All went well, no problem. Took about an hour once they started. But I had to wait all day while two other Taycans finished their larger updates - presumably earlier builds than my 5.2021.

Had my recall update done this morning. Took one hour and I was first in line, so was out the door in no time. All my settings were left in tact. All I had to do was click on my name/profile when I got in the car. Glad that’s done!

Seeing this I start to think Porsche isn't managing the problem but managing the NHTSA.
Maybe they fix a few cars and hope the problems aren't big enough to initiate a new recall (with or without a new demand from the NHTSA).
My car is perfectly fine so if I get a recall letter I may skip that one....
I'm not looking for a solution for a problem that isn't there and surely not to cause one!
My god, this is getting ridiculous...
My car (2020 4S) was working perfectly fine and I took it in last Monday due to the recall notices. They still haven't returned it, claiming that they need to order a USB port and then, after it came in, now need to order a cable. None of this sounds right to me.

dropped friday late afternoon - will see when they have it ready - also having some other work being done - soft brake pedal and perhaps new tires…
@daveo4EV I'm curious whether your dealer found an issue or was able to adjust your brakes to reduce the soft brake pedal feel? I may have a similar issue and am bringing it in on Wednesday. At low speeds (like under 5 mph), my pedal kind of sinks down as I push it. The brakes don't grab where they normally do so it's a bit disconcerting.

they claimed no problems - and flushed the brake fluid.

Dropped car off at 10:00....got loaner Cayenne. Car was washed and ready for pick up at 2:30. No problems other than the radio station was changed.

That's probably normal? I believe that's the regen braking that you're feeling.
