Hi,

My car is from 10/21 with 41 000 km. Dealer tested the capacity and it appears it is only 84%

What can I do ? What is the limit to have an intervention of the warranty ?

Thx.

Better question to ask what is the average range you’re getting ?

numbers with and without climate control on.

mine is also MY21 with 92% when the dealer checked and it has more
Miles than yours

The range is not factual as the battery degradation for a warranty claim.

May differ by market but in the US you would not have a claim. Threshold is 80% at three years, 70% at eight years for a claim.

There are mileage limits too but you would not trigger those.

My 2020 Turbo S, in ideal weather, shows about 167 miles on the GOM with 80% charge, which is *much* less than it used to. Anyone seeing similar results?

My '22 turbo was getting 200 mi @ 80%, then dropped to 190, then 180. So I decided to rebalance the cells for the first time (drove down to 0% and 1 mile remaining), then it went back up to 190. The second rebalance was by accident since I didn't have enough juice to get home, it went down to 0% and a negative 2 or 3 miles remaining (turtle mode). Just charged to 80% today and got 202 miles. I highly recommend you rebalance the cells.

Degradation is also related to how the battery is charged . If you were using DC fast charging most of the time and charging to 90 or 100 percent you likely have more degradation.

I rarely use DC Fast Charging, charge at home, and limit to 80%.

I have tried rebalancing...

IF it helps, my new-to-me 2020 4S has similar range- I've been driving in the city (not ideal) in the summer (about 80F, ideal), 21 in wheels. My GoM shows ~220 miles for 90% charge, but I get less.

On my most recent trip, I got 37.4 kWh/100 miles according to my trip meter (a lot of stop and go city driving... not ideal)
Here's my rough math (no special knowledge)
PB+ 93.4kWh gross becomes 84 kWh usable (from what I read online)
At 15% degradation, that's 71.4 kWh...
At 37.4 kWh/100 miles, that gets a range of 191 miles.
At 80% charge, that's 153 miles...

That math is depressing ;-)

Overall, I think I get better mileage and the range is closer to 220 or so in summer.

Yours is probably driven in less city conditions, but a turbo, so if you're getting 167 at 80%, that seems in the ball park with that degradation...

I tested my battery with the CT14 tool on these forums and it shows it to be healthy.

I don't know how to test degradation of capacity on my battery. Can someone share?

37.4 kWh/100 mi is fairly high consumption, but in the winter I have even more. Only with short trips however, if the car needs cooling/heating all the time.

With a longer trip the consumption drops significantly.

Strange that you have that high consumption on the sedan though, this seems more similar to my Turbo S CT.

Yeah, it's the highest I saw. I usually get better. But it was a lot of short trips, stop and go, A/C, 21 in wheels, etc.

Never really sure what you should get.

Here is my extended range battery just now.

What are you using to judge the residual capacity of the high voltage battery?

It’s a test you can do at your dealer.

DC charging doesn't necessarily degrade your HV battery, it's the heat. Yes, DC charging causes more heat than AC but only for a brief period. Out of the 46k miles on mine, we only took 3 long trips. On the last trip, the ambient temperature was 110F, and the battery temp climbed up to 116F. It stayed at that temp for hours then followed by a DC charge for the next leg of the trip, and the cycle repeats. So, even though I DC charged my car all of the time for the first 3 years to take advantage of the free charging, the SOH is not any worse than what I have read on this forum, I think it's because we hardly go on road trips with it. The other thing I don't use is the LC.
