With 40K+ miles on my 2020 Turbo S I've been hearing a progressively worse 'crunching' sound from my drivers side front suspension. It's become quite noticeable when going over a smooth curb that forces significant front suspension travel. I've just taken my car in for the brake recall and other minor issues (drivers side door rattle that I solved with some washers in the door panel - thanks to this forum). I'll keep everyone posted on what they see. I searched and haven't seen anything like this reported - anyone else notice this?

Lower control arm is worn. Dealer has ordered replacement parts from Germany for me and it’s under warranty (1 year old 20k KM)
What kind of suspension do you have?
My Porsche service tech said they couldn’t replicate the occasional “squeaky” noise from my front springs…

Mine is the Cross Turismo so Air Suspension is standard (PASM I think is the term). And yes, the Porsche Tech will need to record a video of the car going through a speed bump or uneven road to record the sound of the squeak for warranty purposes. They need to record it on their phone too and not your recording. Once they confirmed that there is a sound, they will do the necessary check and mine was confirmed that the lower control arm was worn. They gave back the car to me as they have to order the part from Germany and it will take 3 weeks minimum. They ordered the brake hose as well since I will be coming in for the lower control arm replacement.

Yep, same issues here. Always a smooth ramp that causes the crunch. Dealer couldn’t replicate, so they returned the car back to me. I’ll have to follow your lead and have them record their own video over a smooth ramp.

That noise most probably comes from the upper control arms. The bushing that connects to the body and closer to the cabin tend to gather a lot of mud, etc. remove the wheels and clean properly those places. After that you can spray some silicone for rubber (must be without any oil based components that damage rubber). I was able to get rid of that sound only that way. I complained last year, they sprayed and told me they can’t cover it under the extended warranty (the car was 30k and 2.5yo last year). Though, the sound returned and only washing helped. Now, whenever I was my car, I high-pressure those places so that they stay clean.

As noted in this thread - they will be replacing both upper control arms.

They had me come down and drive the car with the tech as a passenger. I was able to find a section of curb that recreated the 'crunch' so the tech heard it, and that was all I needed. I would see if your dealers can do a 'ride along' if you are having this problem.

Only if you still have a factory warranty….

Would the extended warranty not cover this as well. That can not be classified as a wear item??
The controls arm is a wear item. Moreover, I was said “it’s just a sound” and was proposed to pay 3k if I want them changed. Otherwise, they claimed everything was ok.

I have just had my 22 Taycan 4S CT (57k miles) back to the main dealer because of awful screeching from the driver's side suspension.

They have only replaced the upper control arm on one side, saying that the warranty will not cover the other side as it is not at fault.

I have always 'felt' that with suspension you should replace both sides at the same time. Is this right?
