Hello All,

I was supposed to have my car's first 2-year service in November, together with the brake recall work. However, they didn't have the parts so it got delayed.

I chased them as I'd not heard back. They have given me the following quote. Car has done about 5,000 miles. Does this look reasonable?

Thank you!

There is a whole thread on service costs with figures from around the country and what is included. That looks quite high. You should get a discount on the brake fluid as reduced work since they are doing the brake hoses. I suggest we keep to the existing thread rather than starting another one

If you have not had the brake hose replacement work done or are about to then part of this campaign is to replace the brake fluid.

The 2 yr service also provides for mandatory brake fluid replacement BUT on the basis that you get both jobs done together then ensure you are not charged twice for the fluid replacement.

The rest of the service charge is 'normal'.

I would ask them to demonstrate your sun roof! At least they have reduced the fee they try to charge for that now.

I think the service quote is very high. If the car needs taken apart for checking some drains, I would say it is a very bad design!

How I imagine the sun roof check on our Taycan's; "Ah yes, this is indeed a sun roof. Yes, we can see the sun through the roof. That will be 70,50 pounds"

As others said, way too high and wrong (sun roof), when you search on the forum you will find others getting a quote of around half of yours.

In a word NO!

Which OPC?

I had my first 20k service done at Sytner Solihull after getting quotes from PRG and High Wycombe
PRG quoted £332 excluding brake fluid as this part of the scope of the ARB0 brake hose campaign. High Wycombe tried to add two "Value Create" items which were even labelled as such, reading fault codes and resetting PCM for another £170. Sytner rang me in response to my email asking for a quote and initially quoted £347 but when I said that was more than PRG they reduced the price to £322. They did the heater recall at the same time and final service invoice was £300.54 as I think the road test cost was covered by the heater recall.
I had the ARB0 recall done a few weeks later when parts were in and that also included a software update for the PSM which vastly improves the transition between recuperative braking and mechanical braking when coming to a stop

The drainage channel checks are not mandatory, Sytner test them for free by pouring water in the four corners of the roof and rear of bonnet and watching it run out in the wheel arches. Clearly there is a charge if they are blocked.
Email a few OPC's and ask for quotes!!

Here we go again; please look at the other threads where you will see many alternative quotes.
“Drains” can be from £0 to £1000 (current record quote).

Incidentally I have tried to engage the Porsche Club of GB on the topic of wild variances in service cost, and to persuade them to engage on members’ collective behalf with Porsche UK (whose brand is being damaged by the confusion and, frankly, dealer rip-offs). I have set out the data in some depth, on this and several other issues. However two different routes several months apart have got no response from the Club - perhaps because they aren’t really interested in Taycans. If any PCGB committee menbers happen to read this, perhaps you might pick this up?

I had a quote and they said they don't need the break fluid doing as its just been done as part of the recall. I wouldn't therefore expect them to be charging you for that at the very least.

In total mine came to about £650 in Sheffield.

It's a rip W1NGE, don't try and justify it for them. Cracks and water ingress are pretty easy to identify yourself every single day you use the car ?

Price should be sub-£500 as plenty of people have found. Higher than that is taking the piss.

I love that they are going to charge you for “Check tyre sealant”. You will probably never use it - if you do blow a tyre on the road it’s quite probable that you will do so in a way that a spray can won’t help and you need breakdown service anyway. Chuck the can away and save on “service” :)

£270 to remove and refit the wiper arms LOL - an absolute piss-take.
Probably a 10 mins job at most.
But why would they need to remove them?
£26 for excellent Bosch Aerotwin blades and 2 mins to fit.
And check for leaves / debris each week when you wash it.

And what are they doing for the inspection at £399!
I'd guess that a visual inspection of the seat belts, lights, tyres etc is no more than 15 mins work.

For a model with so many issues (quality and sales volume), they need to be working hard to impress customers rather than doing everything possible to fleece them.

As someone pointed out on here a long time ago a £54 MOT provides a more comprehensive vehicle inspection. Reading showed me how to check the drainage channels and that takes 2 mins to pour a jug of water in the four corners of the roof and at corners of windscreen and then bend down and check it is flowing out nicely in the wheel arches

Dick Lovett Swindon said they did not drain the fluid when doing the brake pipe recall so it still needed doing for the service a couple of months later.

I thought the drains check is for the drains in the undertray of the main battery to make sure it isn't waterlogged.
