I have now used the CTEK Cable M6 Eyelet to make a permanent connection with the lead end in the frunk so that it is quick and easy just to attach the CTEC if not using the Taycan for a bit. Seems a simple solution.
My 996Turbo has always stayed on a CTEC maintainer during winter months so well used to using maintainers.

Haha, if only. Even my oven has had half a dozen more OTA updates than my Taycan.
I think it is fairly sad to need an update on a domestic appliance.
I bought a Devialet D-Premier amplifier for my HiFi 15 years or so ago, it was the first domestic appliance I had with updates and whilst being able to set input titles and sensitivities then download the settings to a SD card (it was 15 years ago) I thought that was it but no, forum clamouring for software updates was continuous. I presume your oven is the same.
I always think anything which needs a password needs avoiding but not always possible.

That is a bit of a strange diagram.
A SoC of a lipo battery is usually measured in voltage cuz voltage tells how much the individual cells are charged, typically 3,2-4,2V per cell when fully charged.
You can't measure Ah cuz it's a capacity, not a consumption or SoC.

…maybe it’s how the protocol that runs over the Linbus from the LifePo battery BMS back to the rest of the car communicates its SOC? Dunno.

The car is at CAN-Bus idle (sleep mode) 15 minutes after switched off so no, it's not that active.

PS Taycan doesn't use LIN-Bus.

Interesting - out of interest how does the system know when to start the 30 min charging of the 12 Volt ? which it is meant to do up to eight times if the Audi diagram is correct for the Taycan ?

Very true.
Sonos app being a prime example of ruining a good product with app updates.

I am sure lots of software updates are just ways to try and monetise things going forward.

It leaves you wondering who owns the item.
You pay for it, but the manufacturer still has some control over it (Taycan included).

It makes me realise why vinyl / Cds are coming back, as streaming services bombard you with ads or want you to pay to avoid them.

This is what Audi say (should be identical for the Taycan)...

Re-charging concept

If the 12 V LiFePO4 battery is discharged while the vehicle is stationary, a specific re-charging concept is implemented under certain conditions.

Example: The vehicle is stationary and has entered bus sleep mode. If the 12 V LiFePO4 battery is discharged so much that its usable charge drops below 8 Ah and the state of charge of the high-voltage battery is higher than 10 %, the high-voltage network is activated and the 12 V battery is charged. This process continues until the 12 V battery has reached a capacity of 20 Ah or 30 minutes have passed. The high-voltage network is then deactivated again and the vehicle enters bus sleep mode. This process can be repeated 8 times per terminal 15 cycle.

I had seen the explanation that the HV battery will be called upon to charge the 12V battery up to 8 times written somewhere else, I don't remember where unfortunately.
The article said it would keep the 12V at working voltage for many months.
My car with HV battery at 76% had a dead 12V after 9 days so either the strategy isn't being triggered or there is a lot of extra load on the 12V battery than anticipated sometimes.

My CTEK Li battery charger arrived this morning so I connected it, it was straightforward.
It went through the sequence of indicators quickly, showing the charge was over 95% and it could hold 12V loaded.
So battery OK.
Difficult to check much else unless I spend a while deliberately using a different car.

External communication CU is the 4G connection and emergency call module unit.

Good to see the OTA being put to use... maybe an update to address connectivity issues, or issues with the module not going to sleep, or the module sending requests continously... which may affect the 12V battery.

Who knows.

EDIT: 35mins... my god, my microwave updates faster.
