Basically what I said. Someone contacted the correct Department at Porsche and they Said 3885 is better than 3882 but not the full fix. There will be another fix but no ETA whatsoever.

Nav system crashed 5 times in 30 minutes of driving yesterday, had to resort to Google maps in CarPlay. It is frustrating, I prefer the Porsche system but you just cannot rely on it.

while my GTS ST was in the OPC a couple of weeks back for a heater repair (!) they looked at this specifically but stated “they could not replicate the issue” nor were any fault codes logged…

You should record it. First time it was "fixed" for me, they also said they couldn't replicate. With video proof they are allowed to check again while Porsche AG is paying (warranty)

It is a typical excuse which delays having to deal with it as well as having more time to get the Solution on hand. Furthermore it puts the burden of proof on you (cool to record a video during driving. I am driving alone more than 90% of the time). The issue is known to Porsche itself since August and I would think that by having a simple request to Porsche they would be informed about the problem.

I have had two long journeys over the past 2 weeks and have experienced the same issues multiple times including a last min re-route to a charger that would have left us stranded at 10pm at night if I have followed the suggested route.

Yesterday it happened 7 times on a 90 mile journey. Today the car location is saying it is 20 miles away (when it last re-started) and unlocked. It is sat on my driveway, locked, plugged in to the charger with a huge shortfall in estimated range. = Not impressed.

Have written to Porsche off the back of previous compensation for battery failures so will share any insight / feedback before I head off to my local dealer later this week.

It was easy for me. When a planned way was on I could’´t stop the system pushing on the red flag. It was taking more than 1 mn to execute the command.
Hope this is the same for you so Yan can easily demonstrate there is an issue

Two finger reset is the only way for me to remove the 'stuck' destination.

Is there a reference we can quote to our local Porsche dealer so we don't have to go through all of the faff of convincing them it's a problem, have them investigate it for a few days, try to pretend it's not a problem, etc etc?
unfortunately no :(

One possibility from German Taycan owners forum PFF:
List of Taycans with nav problems: https://www.pff.de/en/thread/283133...s-lags-over-a/?postID=156418602#post156418602

Mine seems going on working 1 week after my PCM update.
I went yesterday to the new Cayenne presentation evening and fortunately my GPS worked fine.
Hope it will go on lile this
My GTS will be 3 years old in a few months so I have ordered a 911 Targa 4S as the new 718 should only be a available in 2027.
That lets me 2/3 years to come back to EV with better range and softwares
My taycan is the Best day to day car I have own in 40 years driving.
Only the recalls and a Power Button default so finally a good reliability for me
I’m really interested by the future 718 and I Will order one as soon as possible

Today, I can join the chorus of nav sufferers. Drove 500km from London/UK to Cologne/D. At EVERY juncture when navigation was actually required, the nav froze / crashed. In between, I would receive countless map updates, wiping out the programmed route each time. The poor thing struggled to keep up with the charge planning. Unreal.

It looks like this satnav issue is mainly affecting owners in Northwest Europe and the UK. It only seems to appear after the battery management system recall and only when the Porsche Charging Planner is active (even without a destination set)

Does anyone know what was changed in the BMS software update that might explain why this is happening specifically in this region? Could it be the great amount of HPC chargers and we are out of memory?

As a developer I think your suspicion looks correct. I guess the hardware specs of anything within a car are also up to debate by financial controlling. Saving a buck here unfortunately translates into quite expensive recalls. However I am not quite sure about the OS and general software stack. My feeling is that it is everything else than efficient, but I might be wrong.

In the end the current situation is a nightmare for such an expensive car that is advertised for long distance trips. Add winter time and it gets worse. Don‘t understand why it is taking that long while the Information provided is up to the quite varying information level of the service centers.

Yup - me too...

A few people suffering sticky Porsche nav in the UK over past few weeks (ref: Porsche Taycan Owners UK on Facebook).

One member said he'd been told it was a known problem & Porsche are 'developing a fix'. Another said that activating charge planner stopped the problem.

Others just yesterday said the problem had 'corrected itself' in the last 24 hours (from today)

I haven't driven my car yet today to check out the latter

Cheers
