So I'm assuming if you are at 60% and plug in it will wait till say 3am that start charging such that it reaches 85% exactly at 0530.
Correct?

.
However, I assume if you plug in at 10% charge, it will start charging early enough that again it will reach 85% at 0530. So it might part charge at higher cost.
Also correct?

That scenario works well for me as I rarely deplete the battery further than 6 hours worth of off-peak cheap recharging.

I don't think the charger links wit the Octopus. It links to the car. I have a primary EV linked to my octopus account. My taycan is a secondary vehicle.

I think that will indeed be the best solution. Ive no issue with charging at peak hours as long as I fully utilise the cheaper rate.

Will give it a go for a few weeks and report back

I also have 2 EV's, Octopus Energy and the Wallbox Max.

I initially turned on the Intelligent Octopus Go and Smart charging but found that my 2nd EV often wouldn't charge. So I turned off the smart charging and just put a timer on the Wallbox to turn on at the off-peak times. This gives me 6 hours at the 7p rate and works everytime.

I thought you could only do this for so long (not using the nominated car as IO intended) before Octopus cancel the IO contract?

My understanding also (although it's probably just a "reserve the right" type clause).

@tylerdurden : please could you clarify if you use the same wall charging equipment for both cars? - obviously at different times. Or do you have 2 wall chargers? - or a wall charger and a 3-pin plug-in charger? What charging equipment do you have?

I think I read that on this forum. No sign of them cancelling it. I did try to switch it back on several months ago, but it failed to recognise the car so gave up again.

This is what the profiles look like the second one is relocated to my home

Others on here may have more info but my understanding is the General profile behaves differently from others where the % is actually treated as a maximum; other profiles use this as a minimum (confusing, huh?).

I have only one profile, General:
Porsche Taycan Ho to set up charging profile with Octopus Intelligent Go? Screenshot_20241015_163750_My Porsch

My car never charges past 75%. I don't have any timers set. As you see I don't use the time setting within the profile.

I have Octopus Intelligent Go which integrates with the Zappi charger. When I plug in Octopus sets a charging schedule based on the % charge I've set in the Octopus app, but the car never charges more than the General profile (75% as above).

If Intelligent Octopus doesn’t do what you tell it to, turn off Smart Control in their App and just use either the Car’s Profile or Profile+Timer (via PCM or My Porsche) or if you must for other reasons, your charger features. Same for your other EV.

This provides a very clear explanation of Profiles and Timers.

The Audi equivalent for their Taycan is more intuitive.
