I think I’m just seeing the higher summer battery temperatures and improved range estimate. In dry weather I’m also less fussy about garaging the car, so that will be another temperature benefit.

But also noticeable that I’m seeing the same summer range estimates that I saw 2 years ago after I bought the car, 15000 miles ago. My SoH was officially measured at 91% after a cell replacement last summer, so no noticeable degradation across the last 2 years.

At the weekend I drove 15-20 miles to a nearby town. On the way out I took the A road, so 40-50 mph, and lost 5% charge. On the way back, I took the motorway and lost 15%. Both in heavy rain and with air con. Of course motorway driving has a bigger hit on range, but hadn’t previously noticed that it was so significant.

The range estimate is just a guess. The car doesn’t know where you’re going next, and how fast, unless you have programmed a route in the Porsche sat nav, when road type and likely speed would be factored in.

There might be a simpler explanation. During an update, the dealer might have reset the Taycan's guess-o-meter to factory settings, which tends to be on the generous side for range. When I picked up my Taycan straight "off the boat", the range estimates were quite a bit higher than real world range (which also showed between Taycan estimates and ABRP estimates for the same segment of the road trip home). IIRC it took about 2 or 3 days and 1,000-1,500 miles before it became realistic.

Just dropped my car off for the WRS0 update.

While there I enquired about the update discussed in the link below.

https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/202...ge-software-update-2023-model-year-29112.html

The technician advised that my car already had this update applied during its last visit by the campaign WMA6, so now you know what it is called.

The way you can tell if this has been applied to your car is that all the PCM icons are in colour.

I thought that, but I'm actually getting the range in real miles driven. 240 miles driven (which previously was the maximum I ever saw indicated at 100% charge) and 30 miles showing as remaining at 12.5%

I had whatever software updates were extant in January when my car was serviced and recently the OTA battery monitoring update.
The guessometer range is at its summer normal, 245, about 12% better than typical winter.
My recent trips are around 2.6 m/kWh as has been the case for summer trips from new, though it can be much lower on very short journeys, but my most recent trip was 3.2 m/kWh, a value I had rarely seen before (apart from the reported overall which is absurd and mathematically impossible given it exceeds the peak consumption).
If it hadn't been for this thread I would not have checked so I hope it keeps it up!

My TTST sits at 75% right now at 190 miles. Seems to be eeking out the battery better than it ever used to, even in summer as I'm definitely seeing it go longer on less electrons. No better consumption than usual I will add...journeys very short at the moment and hovering around 2.1-2.4

My car’s now completely up to date with all updates and recalls and I’m seeing a huge improvement in both economy and range.

Mine’s a 2022 4S with bigger battery.

Previously I’d have to work hard at driving sedately on a long drive to see 3mi/kwh and my regular commute was nailed on at 2.4mi/kwh. That includes the 2 previous summers, so this isn’t a summer vs winter thing, this is now my 3rd summer with the vehicle.
I’m now seeing 3.0-3.2mi/kWh on that same commute and 3-3.1 on most long journeys without trying.

Range wise today I charged to 100%, dash showed a range of 280miles. I took that with a pinch of salt because I’d never previously seen more than 242 indicated on the dash but having driven 250 miles today I have a remaining range of 31 miles so I’ve already driven more miles on this charge than anything previously indicated.

Has anyone else seen a range improvement since the recent updates?
Taycan PB+ MY 2023 53.000km estimated SoH 91%. : 230km at 50% SoC, so 460km or 286 miles at 100% SoC. No recent updates other than OTA ARB6

My estimated range dropped after the WRS0 update. 90% would give me 400km but now it's only 360km.

It didn't.
Using distance travelled divided by percentage used to calculate total range confirmed my normal range had not changed whatever the summary in the app said.
Maybe the individual trip calculation is now as optimistic as the overall calculation always has been???

Has anyone else seen a range improvement since the recent updates? -Just got back from a trip in the Alps. No improvement at all. I'd even say it's not as good as it used to be.

I don't think your mileage estimates are due to the software, since they are very similar to what others have reported without the software. I regularly get 280 - 300 mi. range (range setting) on my guess-o-meter, and in the summer show regular stints over 3.0 mi/kWh in regular mode.
