My Porsche app lost connectivity (again)

I had previously lost all connectivity in both the car and app. But a workshop update(Dec 2024) got me connected again.

The app has been useless for the past 2-months, but it used to say "Just updated". At least now its being truthful about not connecting to the Porsche cloud since early December.

Any troubleshooting ideas?

Log out of the car and delete app, reinstall app and log into both
I tried both suggested steps, but no change in restoring app connectivity. After re-installing the app, it did spin for a while "Updating...", but eventually just settled back to the 12/04 1:15AM as before.

When I "logged out" of the account in-car, that put me back in guest mode. And then when I re-selected my account to "login", there was no password required, it just switched over.

My garage is pretty much a cell-phone dead zone. Not sure if that matters, but I guess if the car cannot radio back to HQ while parked maybe that's doing me in.

What happens when you are outside with strong cell reception?

Yes it matters a lot. If the car cannot communicate with the servers then you’ll never be able to use the app. Take to somewhere where there is good signal and refresh the app.

if that fails then open a ticket with Porsche connect .

I lost connectivity for about 6 weeks, nothing worked until the service center fixed it

Hi there, I just went through all of this....my car lost LTE for about 8 weeks. I did everything mentioned here. Logged out, uninstalled app, dsconencted 12 v battery, the two finger reset and nothing worked. I rely on the remote climate as its summer here in Australia. So I had no choice but to book in for a service. Dealer advised me that the "connection to Germany" was lost and they had to get them to fix it in the backend. I also complained that this was not the first time, but previously it had come back online within a few days. Also mentioned to them that I also get the PCM stuck on the Porsche logo. He says to me" are you complaing about the PCM software and experiencing software problems?" I told him yes its terrible. I was then informed that "ok sir given you have had problems and are raising a complaint, we are going to update all the software that is available to your car." My car was there for 2 days and I was told there were a heap of optional updates they applied. I dont know how many they actually did update but my PCM version is 3885 now. Time will tell, buts seems rock solid now. My car is the first gen too

My partner and I were logged out of the app one morning two weeks ago.

She has an iPhone and was able to log back in, I have a Samsung S23 Android phone and have not been able to log back in, despite uninstalling, switching the phone off, reinstalling the app after switching back on.

After calling and emailing Porsche UK, answering their questions etc. I have this status from them :swear:

I have forwarded this to my colleagues in Porsche AG, who will use this to continue their investigations. Once I have received more information from the team looking into this, I will be better placed to update you further.

This app is a paid for service, it is really poor to have all these problems.

Had pretty much your symptoms.
Got in touch with the Porsche support.
By the time I got a proper response, it self resolved - after 3 weeks..

Here's their response:
I hope this message finds you well.

I have received an update regarding your case, and unfortunately, our technicians were not able to resolve the connectivity issue internally.

They have determined that a reboot of your Conbox (Connect device) via the PIWIS Tester is required. We would kindly ask you to contact your nearest Porsche Centre to arrange a convenient appointment for this procedure.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in reaching a solution, and thank you for your patience.

Had similar on my J1.1 when the LTE connection failed.
The only fix was a dealer visit, who plugged-in and reset something. (Probably the Conbox as per the comment above.)
It wasn't possible to fix it via an app delete / new installation or OTA update.
Dealer fix only took circa 20 mins from memory.
Though it was also a 2 hour round trip, so very frustrating.

Just wanted to check: Do you have an active paid Porsche Connect subscription?
3-years Porsche Connect is included with new purchase. I just double checked my account and it confirmed Porsche Connect is active until 2027 for my vehicle.

I have the same issue on my 25 4S. Late last year :(. It was resolved by the dealer after sw update. It started again about 12 days ago. App no longer refreshes car information, it shows last update on 3/25 9:30am EST. Reinstalling app doesn't help. Porsche even got rid of PCM reboot after the latest sw update, so I can't even try the PCM reboot. All remote commands fail as well. App is so bad coming from Tesla.

My 2025 J1.2 had the same issue. Many Porsche Connect services were unavailable even though the car had a data connection. I called Porsche and we walked through various troubleshooting steps which were unsuccessful. They advised I pay the service center a visit. Porsche Service saw that a software update for the communication module was available which solved the issue (at least for now).

My car was in the dealer service center for a week last month. They applied 3 software recalls and replaced the charge port door motor. They gave the car back to me without fixing the app connectivity -- said to call Porsche Connect customer service, which I have an open case with, but no progress has been made.
