OP - still not clear what a windshield replacement or instrument calibration has to do with alignment; did they disconnect the suspension elements to free up a sensor cable?
I'd bet on upsells. I learned long ago the service side of the house is a sales vehicle just like the front is.

Also tire emissions, I read somewhere those are big contributors to pollution caused by EVs.

Apparently on the Tan it’s all one system. The calibration of the cameras on the windshield are related somehow to the actual alignment on the car so it can correct the way you drive I have no idea I was basically told from Safelite that our car needs a specific alignment and recalibration after the windshield is replaced and they do not have the equipment to do so therefore insurance requires the dealership to perform the calibration and alignment for us

Great tyre for grip!

Terrible tyre for long wear and sticky so also higher consumption.
Well, looks like for the Miami weather. It’s even worse when the dealership it’s recommending to replace them at 5K miles and they consider the thread low not extremely low but yet low enough to consider replacing both tires.

They said they recommendation to replace comes from the fact that they will not repair the tires on site. They did not say they are not repairable either so I’m gonna take my chances and try to patch them because I wanna check on that first.

It seems to me that the suggestion of replacement is more due to them not having the repair kit than worn out tyres.

Well worth checking with a tyre specialist IMO.

My dealer started a new policy that they will not patch tires on any Porches. We picked up several nails on the SUVs and for expediency, I said, just patch it, but they still required me to get a new tire, so I just have it stored for now. However, I got wheel and tire insurance for the Taycan at purchase, (now much higher price than the SUVs were) so if I get any nails, they are covered. OEMs on the 21 E Mission wheels full seasons came as Continental and still are not even 300 miles since delivery, so I was able to get them to lose grip on a roundabout at about 30 mph I think, but that does not count as they are not fully broken in. However, my go tos are Michelins at the first opportunity.

My 2020 4S with 19" Goodyear all season tires needs front tires every 12K miles. Rears ever 24K miles. I get my alignments from a trust local tire shop, $150 for 4 wheel alignment. I've had disappointing luck with dealer alignment in the past not to mention the cost difference.
That's odd given the car is all wheel drive and therefore the tyres should wear evenly. Something not quite right.

Chassis alignment required when replacing windscreen, taking a bumper off and so on - due to the cameras.

PZeros should NOT be worn out in 5000 miles unless the pressures were too low. Super hot temps would contribute as well. But those tires don’t wear out that quickly in normal use. I’ve had them on many cars, including my Taycan and rears are good for 15k. I drive my Taycan very hard, with lots of launches, and the rears are still fine at 12k miles.

And why on earth would the car need a wheel alignment just because the cameras are being recalibrated. I’ve never heard of that before.

Exactly my point and why i am not taking their advice on getting 2 new tires for them refusing to patch the tires.

On the alignment i have no idea but insurance required it and safelite as well after replacing the windshield.

Well reading all above, is the reason for this that they consider that the tyre with nail can not be repaired and needs replacing for that reason. And if both tyres have more than just a little wear on them, they will recommend that both tyres be replaced. Not necessarily worn out.
Best would be to contact a very good tyre specialist and hear their opinion.

Some tyre shops will not repair tyres if there has been a nail in them.

Should actually eat first the rears then front.

Will depend but you're right, rear wheel biased will naturally lead to more wear at the rear. However, with the Taycan and 2 motors alternating drive (your non Taycan AWD image won't show that) wear will be different.

I comfortably got 18K miles from my 4S with even wear all around.

I can see/accept there is a geometry element in the coordination between cameras and, you know, where the car is actually driving. But that should be more like “check alignment is within spec”, and not that a camera is immovable and so we have to loosen up/retighten suspension elements. Even a fixed sensor (like one embedded in the windshield) should have some degree of alignment via software, so that it is the one being aligned with the direction of the car - not the other way around.

(hmm, maybe the person from the Tesla thread was right, and Porsche are crap at software.. ?)

Not wheel alignment.
