One thing that is very apparent however is thread wear (and hence compound) and I can emphatically say that the NF0 Pirellis that came with my car (summer performance) have possibly the worst conventional road thread wear I’ve experienced - great grip, good sound suppression, lousy wear - will eventually go to my usual Michelin (PS4S) but hoping they deliver an EV version to be available here soon - unfortunately (or not!) I have another set of Pirellis to use as I got a very good deal on price but that’s OK.
I only got around 9k miles on my factory fitted Pirellis. I could have got more but one of them developed an aneurism (egg) after hitting a bloody pothole at speed. Plus I should cut down on demonstrating launches in my Turbo S ?

Agree with Pirellis. AX’d with them a few years ago on my 911 GTS and came back to Michelin after. Poor wear.

After 23000+ miles, my Taycan 4S needs new tires in the next few weeks. The car came factory installed with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 which I’ve liked. But I’m wondering if there’s anything better out there, especially if anyone has any advice or opinions about the newer EV-specific performance tires that have come out in the last year or so and promise increased range. The tire retailer/installer I'll use likes the Michelin Pilot Sport but also recommends the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Seasons.
My Cross Turismo came with the 20" Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Seasons and IMHO they are terrible. I'm also in Northern CA and drove the car during all the rainstorms at the beginning of the year. The car felt like it had no wet traction and was not a confidence builder. I will be looking for something else when the time comes...

Thank you! That’s exactly the kind of input I was looking for.

In the end good engineering fact is in short supply (and pretty well totally absent from the internet IMO) so I shall be sticking with NF0.

That means the Goodyear asymmetric for summer tyres as delivered.
What do you think of Tyre review data? (Link below). I think as far as internet data goes, this channel provides as objective as possible data. I never even knew the OE spec of the same brand tyre of the same size were different until I saw this video. So I'm pretty happy with my NF0 spec Michelin PS4 -- because some Porsche & Michelin engineers optimized the suspension including the tires as a whole. The fact that Costco carries NF0 is just bonus.

This guy on Tyre review site seems to me to do the best tyre comparisons I have seen.

Good to see the detail difference between OEM and aftermarket tyres of the "same" spec.

There is a lot of misinformation on the internet from ill informed, self appointed experts IMO...

I have Michelin Cross Climate 2's on my CT. So far they have been excellent tires.
What tires did you get from the factory and how much better are the Cross Climates in the snow?

Yep, the All Season tires an en'tire'ly different compound than the stickier summer performance P-Zeros - just not comparable - but of course the summer tires fairy crap grip (more brittle) once you get close to freezing temps.

My CT came with Michelin 20 Inch Pilot Sport 4. Totally worthless stopping on snow and ice. The CC2 stop at snowy intersections and are actually rated higher for snow than some winter tires. I like them enough that I put a set on my Cayenne.

We've put them on all our existing vehicles and found them to be better in winter than the Blizzaks that were on my daughter's car much less the all-season tires they replaced elsewhere. The SA keeps assuring us that the OEM all seasons the Taycan comes with are great in snow but I find it hard to believe.

Do you run them as an all season tire, or only in winter?
I got them because they are all season tires that work amazingly well in the winter. Turns out they are great in the summer too. Where I live we can expect snow from November through May with October and June not off limits.

As a data point, the Contis all-season that came with my 4CT did great in the snow. I’ll go eventually to a dedicated winter wheelset, but was pleasantly surprised.
