My used 4CT came with that and I ended up selling it to a forum member. I had thought it would be like the net on my A6 Allroad, which is essentially deployable and then retracts back into divider. Instead it’s a massive overengineered partition. For a driver who often travels with pets, sure. But not for intermittent spur-of-the moment use.
I kinda wish my ST had the anchor points so I have the option - but I had them with the net on my last Panamera and never used it 🤔. And yeah, the net is really rubbish.

^ I forgot about those anchor points. And I never realized they didn’t come standard. I checked them out again now on my CT. Doubt I’ll ever think of another use for them!

Fair enough. I wish I could have bought it, but my CT lacks the roof anchors. The net is probably useless with dogs but with the seats down and the rear full of rubbish, I feel better with the partition net. Given how it costs not $200, why would you not want the option?

I can't really regret anything since I bought the car on the aftermarket, but if I did buy it new, I would regret the Comfort Access package... It took just one day of ownership before I turned it off. The door handles popping out every time I walked past the car wasn't very much to my likings.

I struggle a lot to understand how someone would put so much money in a car, but not go the extra 1-2% to have a decent interior.
People have very different preferences and especially if ordering a custom high end cars they are more likely to order what they want, rather than what the next owner might want.
Reminds me of people who stay at posh hotels but eat instant noodles.
Warren Buffett prefers to eat a McDonalds for breakfast, which might be shocking to you, but I doubt he cares (and we all know he can afford a personal chef for every meal until the end of his life). The world is an interesting place. :)

Electric charging covers. Expensive, looks cool in the show room, but no one except me knows it’s there and novelty wore off quickly.

Wish id got the lane assist think (warning light in side mirrors). I thought it was the wrong price, but big blind spots on the car. Think its standard (as it should be) on newer models?

The electric charging covers also block up the air vents underneath which stops road grime and stones coming off the tyres and peppering the doors. worth speccing the electric covers purely for that

True enough, for the price, it's a good value by any standard, even more so by Porsche standards.
I just personally have zero use for it. Perhaps in the future I'll think of a use for the tie-down points.
But so far I use only the tie-down point on the cargo floor (to keep my Vredestein compact spare from shifting around).

Been reading this thread with interest. Just put down a deposit on a used 4s that has crazy high spec. $55K worth Only a few things missing.....

Haven't even got the car yet and already I'm like, I've missed out on those 3/4 things.

Pass/skip:
1. Passenger Display - had this in a larger loaner car (Macan), and wife still tended to use the center PCM. New version is shielded from driver.
2. HUD - too bright and distracting
3. PSCBs - while billed as a more cost effective long duration alternative to PCCBs, some owners experience chipping of the rotor surface. If owned outside warranty period, it's a higher risk of a defect than PCCBs which has been improved upon in the last 20 years. Also, it is not a 100k miles part, more like 60k, so 3rd owners of the vehicle will be burdened with high maintenance cost.
4. 4 Zone Climate

50/50:
1. Burmeister - customer preference. Bose is probably sufficient for most.
2. Leather interior - For GTS cars, definitely option the Racetex for durability and uniqueness. Cloth is also intriguing.
3. Night vision - useful for rural area drivers
4. Variable Light Control Roof - I love it, kind of like a gimmick but does block out incremental amount of light energy/heat.
5. Seat cooling - critical for hot climate owners
6. PCCBs - if going with long duration brakes, these are tried and tested. Also has bling factor.
7. PDCC/Active Ride - for comfort, but maybe ole school drivers find it unnatural
8. Off Road Design/Sports Design - more body panels to break or need replacing. Sports Design CF is a bit tacky
9. 21 inch wheels - there are a few stylish 20 inch options that are half the cost of 21s. Poor ride quality.

Must have:
1. Active parking assist , for the cross traffic warning
2. Inno
3. Roof rails - small cost for functionality
4. 2/4+1 seats - small cost for functionality
5. Soft Close doors - doors are too heavy for kids. Soft close will help.
6. Rear Axle Steering - low speed maneuvering
8. Rear Bike Prep NG1- no/low cost for functionality
9. Insulated glass - a must for all climates
