OTA Software Update (July 17, 2023)!

I am constantly getting updates to infotainment, legal notices, maps etc. so I also don't understand the point of the email. Who at Porsche thought it was a good idea to send this out? What a great way to stoke FOMO without offering anything specific.

More interestingly is that they either didn’t think of being specific in their targeting (to people that don’t have the criteria met) or they don’t have access to see the data they’re requiring (which I’m not complaining on that privacy front either).

Supposedly this is a major PCM update per the email, and the first where we don't have to go to the dealer.

Time will tell of course.

If that is the case there should be release notes. We haven’t been provided anything specific so I’m as skeptical as others.

I followed the video process yesterday. At that time I was getting a swirling update as others mentioned. This morning update just said "system up to date". I guess we will find out when OTA updates come at some later date.

I received the same email for a 2021 Base that had just visited the dealer at the end of last week. No mention of update. Same swirling. System reports up to date. I’ll try again in another week unless notified otherwise.

I received the email yesterday as well. I just purchased a 2022 Turbo over the weekend and it already has the update from last year so I’m ASSUMING this is preparation or yet another one coming soon?

System up to date for me also......

This was a flashback to my early days with Tesla. Forum would say there is a new update and I would constantly check the car to see if it was ready for download.....

I’ll wait… or, i’ll park the car at dealer’s parkplace, then perform upgrade…just in case of bricked by OTA

Sincere there is no thread on the forum touching on OTA updates or software that @daveo4EV does not bring up Tesla, I am going to go a different direction since they may know how to write software, but they make $hit cars.
