What does it do? Is it worth renewing? Don’t use the nav. Does it link to immobiliser etc?

On your myporsche website account > vehicle > connect services for you > connect store > "active services" will describe components/services of connect in your vehicle.

I think the components are also viewable in the app and PCM.

EDIT: To see a list of Connect services in PCM:
Home > Settings > Privacy & Porsche Connect > Overview of all Porsche Connect services...

I’m wondering the same. 3 years old and £270 odd for a year seems nuts. Wouldn’t personally think it’s anything to do with immobiliser. I not worried about nav map either and don’t use anything else I’m aware of. The main issue for me does it disable use of the Porsche app as no LTE? If it does this will be an issue for me as my elec tariff charge anytime uses the lte and I’m wondering if I won’t be able to charge at my cheap rate without it???

Yes it seems a lot of cash.
I assume heating the car before journey, checking battery charge eyc is covered by this?

It is a bit of a liberty to be charging for this after 3 years. I was not told that was a chargeable option when I paid for the car like I was with lane control etc.
warranty ,tracker I understand but your basic functionality of the car as sold Is out of order.
don’t really have a choice if you want to keep the car.

See my other post - if you need your energy company to be able to control your car charging from your car (not from the charger), you’ll need connect and I think it’s laughable that Porsche UK expect you to renew in order to charge your EV effectively.

Mine expired a while ago - weirdly I can still precool/heat (didn’t think this was meant to happen).

Most annoying thing though is I can’t tell how much charge I have via the app since it expired. Very annoying!

You’d think this would be base functionality and not something you’d have to pay for.

Other than that I haven’t missed any of the other features.

In addition to all else you get renewed free charging for a year at EA after the three years is up.

Their argument would be that you don't need to renew. You can charge the car with plenty of flexibility using the car's own timers.

That you or I want to do it differently via an electricity provider is not their issue. They could argue "why does the electricity provider not give everyone cheaper electricity when they have a surplus? Why tie it to an EV?

Pff, I'm quite disappointed by the renewal price of $300+ per year ? on a $100k+ car ...

I just need to see the charge and pre heat/cool and it feels not good to pay so much to "subscribe" to such basic features :crying:

(But I did just renew, there is a small black Friday discount now)

A bit like folding wing mirrors and memory seats!

100% agree. I'd expect to pay to renew the vehicle tracker etc, but not an app!
I guess ive got by without an app for 30 odd years with a car in the past and never use the one for my other car. But i'm also with Ovo and need the LTE to do smart charging. I'll worry about it in a year i guess!

Can anyone confirm that renewing the Porsche connect service for a year also renews the free charging at EA? I don't think this is true. It is not mentioned anywhere unless I missed it?
Thank you.
