This…What I find annoying about the long press is that you can hear the audible "click" when you press the button, which fools you into thinking that the car has accepted the input, when in fact one needs to linger longer.
Also: If you don't use the Power button then comfort entry doesn't work.
I tried double pressing and didn't work from. Long press is no big deal.double pressing was an option
Double tap doesn't work on my 2020 4S either. Maybe the newer cars work that way thoughI tried double pressing and didn't work from. Long press is no big deal.
For the entire time I have owned the car, I have been doing this:
To enter: Unlock the car with the key fob, or wait for the door handles to present when I approach.
To exit: Press the park button, then get out of the car and either press the lock button on the key fob or touch the door handles to lock.
So my question is this: Am I doing somethign wrong or missing something by not using the power button? I don't have any measurable vampire drain, so the car is definitely not staying "on" for long periods of time.
I just tried it and it works! That saves me some time for sure. Everything else was normal. Thanks! If the car is turned on it will not allow you to lock it with the touch of the door handles. I know as it doesn't work for me. The car turning back on again is due to a second key present in or around the car by your spouse most likely
I got the double-tap to work a few times on my 2020, but it was quite finicky in terms of timing and length of tap. So unfortunately back to the long press for me.Double tap doesn't work on my 2020 4S either. Maybe the newer cars work that way though

My US 2023 car: I exit without poking the off button, and lock with a door handle touch. So perhaps Canada and/or a different year behaves differently. If the car is turned on it will not allow you to lock it with the touch of the door handles. I know as it doesn't work for me. Hum …. Interesting. Must be then. Not sure why however. My US 2023 car: I exit without poking the off button, and lock with a door handle touch. So perhaps Canada and/or a different year behaves differently.
I tested both the key and the door and it DOES NOT lock the door if the car hasn’t been turned off. We must press the Off button in the car to lock the door with mine. Not sure why but this must be a Canadian obligation somehow.Hum …. Interesting. Must be then. Not sure why however.
I may have found the reason why it isn't working for me and maybe for you. I request a check of the interior alarm each time I turn off the car as I have a dog who is almost always present and remains many times in the car while we run an errand. This check allows us to turn off or keep on the interior car alarm once the car just got turned off. Consequently, it is making sense that the car refuses to turn off once outside using the door handle button or the key if the car hasn't been turned off first. It is possible to remove this "check alarm" in the configuration in the PCM. Personnally, I need it so I am not going to try but maybe for you, that was triggered at the update. It is something for you to check. IF when you turn off the car it asks you to keep or remove the interior alarm, it is clearly set like my car. Remove this step at turn off and I bet you could get the car shutting down in pressing the handle button once outside. When my Comfort Access got disabled after an update, my car no longer powered off when I locked it.
I have something similar, I think. Is it this? Mine is automatic.I may have found the reason why it isn't working for me and maybe for you.
