From Porsche configurator on LED-Matrix Design Headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+):

on HD Matrix: "individual operation of 32,000 LEDs"

The wording would be "Full LED-Matrix functionality" and may want to mention you'd like ECE (euro), as opposed to SAE (USA) headlight behavior. Good luck?
I appreciate the assist. I’m not sure if they’ll do it but the worst they can say is no.

I’ve asked a Porsche dealership if they can do this but couldn’t explain to the service advisor what this is called. Does anyone have an official name I can say?
There is no official name a US dealer can use to find the Porsche procedure to enable full matrix headlights in the US. AFAIK your dealer is not allowed to officially do full matrix enablement for you in the US, as it doesn't meet all the new US regulatory requirements. They may not even have the tools (specifically, engineering mode enabled on their PIWIS). I know a service tech who drives a Taycan, who couldn't do it even for himself using the tools they have. I also heard from members here that dealers can't even do something like recoding for european tail lights (which is much simpler than matrix), even though they will sell you the part.

Ah well I already sent the email so most likely they’ll say no considering this comment. Thanks!

Updating to remove what might be incorrect information, assuming the carbuzz link below is more accurate. TY JakeCT.

@whitex has posted extensively why Porsche US is unlikely to ever enable full LED-matrix functionality. One of the legal requirements is mentioned here: https://carbuzz.com/only-car-brand-...=In essence, the new US,the rest at high beam.

I would also add that for those of us that have successfully enabled it, the front amber side marker lights are not constantly illuminated, and only act as turn signal indicators (ECE behavior). This would not be in compliance with US regulations.

I think it's safe to say that the extent of your typical Porsche tech's PIWIS knowledge is that of what their workshop manual tells them to do. Anything beyond that such as manual coding without rules is learned on their own time.

did you ever get this fixed?
Negative. I was able to sync B34 with PCSS, autocode MIB3 and Conbox for good measure, but still to no avail. Region code in MIB3 is stuck at "fe", which is likely a fallback profile for when Connect can't authenticate in the current region. PCNA has assigned my case to a "technical expert" and has sent instructions to my dealer on how to resolve the issue.

I've been trying to avoid the dealer but it looks like I have no other choice. It's likely going to require some cert handshake (PIWIS online stuff) as well as a manual provisioning of my VIN to North America region.

Moral of the story---DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE VOD BACK TO STOCK. 😭

Could you expand on Euro Taillight coding, is this just software or needs Euro Taillight hardware. How does Euro taillight differ from US taillight?

I looked it up and looks like requires hardware and the change is that blinkers are amber. Not sure of the benefit if that is all it is.

Here you go(beginning of this post explains the benefits, links to a youtube video going into even more details, the rest explains how to do it):
