It’s actually quite different from the standard cruise control on the Taycan which stops working below about 7mph. So it will match the speed of the vehicle in front but will then happily cruise into the back of it when it stops. The ACC slows you to a stop and, provided its within 15s, move you off again (after 15s you need to tap the accelerator or the cruise control stalk to move off). True that facility has been available for years on other cars but its an optional extra on the Taycan and well worth it IMHO for the increasing traffic queues these days. If you can get PID working in addition it automatically adjusts to the speed limit (although Porsche often gets that wrong) and to the road e.g. slowing for roundabouts, junctions and bends. The speed limits and roundabouts is useful to avoid having to play with the stalk all the time to set and reset the speed and to switch it back on after slowing for a roundabout. Part of the way I feel is driving Teslas for 10 years and having "Full Self Driving" for the last 5. I am surprised that doesn't happen to save costs on Porsche. A unique wiring harness per car depending on what options are selected sounds like incredible complexity on the part of suppliers. I guess Porsche have it nailed down because they love their options!I wish Porsche would adopt a new strategy : all cars coming out of the factory being as close as possible to 100% pre-wired & pre-configured for almost 100% of the options, so that you can easily pay afterwards for any option, either as a test, or lifetime.

I think you wrote me and didn’t write me back on your findings. I’m not sure what you have working, I’m going to assume ACC and LKA (which comes standard).I had someone do the same install for me. Only cost me a couple of hundred dollars more than your component costs and I didn’t have the worry of all that wiring to sort out and a PIWIS to find. ACC and ALK work fine but haven’t been able to get Innodrive working. Have you had any success with that yourself?

Thanks. I have ACC and ALK but PID isn’t showing up in any of the menus so I assume its the first bit that‘s not been done. I had wondered whether to ask my local Porsche Centre as they will make some money from doing it and a PID subscription.I think you wrote me and didn’t write me back on your findings. Your installers would’ve needed to code your CCS from what they had it set as, which is 3V9, to be compatible with innodrive, 3V2.
That would enable the function in the car’s settings but it won’t work. You’ll then need ti buy InnoDrive through PCS as FOD. That would then allow digital services to push the provisioning to the car.
I don’t want anyone to think it’s just online coding and viola.
Even online coding can be a tall and expensive hill to climb if you don’t already have a compatible VCI and access to PIWIS.
