I have question, I have noticed that the driver displays remain ON, dark showing P but always ON even car locked and shutdown with ON/OFF button. The sport chrono central upper small screen as well.
Is it normal ? It does used much power but seems odd.

Everything will shut down completely after a short time. Your post prompted me to go out to my locked car without the key and the displays were completely off. I then went back with the key and touched the door handle at which point everything woke up. After closing up the car again I waited about 5 minutes and returned with no key. Everything was off again.

Maybe you always have your key with you when checking the display. Try waiting a bit then return to the car without the key. All the displays should be dark.

Mine remains ON, dark but showing the P. Maybe link to alarm issue, in another hand I got instantaneous connection phone/apple carplay and connect app may be why it stays ON.
Doesn’t hurt so far.

Yep - this is what should be expected - complete lights out after locking and after a few minutes. The only visible light should be the blinking Red leds in the bottom left quadrant of the driver and passenger door windows to denote the alarm is armed.

If 'P' is still displayed it suggests the car hasn't fully powered off, locked or has been woken by the proximity of a key.

I expect this is another MY22 bug. I have the same on my new CT4. Didn't happen on the MY20 4S.

Even if you go to the car without the key the cluster is slightly lit and the P symbol is illuminated.

Adrian, you're lucky to have an older car that behaves itself. The new cars still drive great but the software is full of bugs.

I have :

- setup menu everytime I use the car.
- no ability to login as no menu items.
- red charging error light on dash on every AC charge.
- instrument cluster always on with P displayed.

Interesting. I wonder if everyone with a '22 is having this issue and if it's just CT's or all models.

Is it draining any battery? Possible they figured out a sleep mode w no significant battery drain to speed up cold boot. Bug or feature?

Difficult to say. There's always some vampire drain, and you'd have to measure 2 cars side by side to know, and even then...

Just to add to this, I have a ‘22 4S sedan and my display has remained on as well. Always shows the “P” for Park. This is even after several days, locked, no keys around. I’ve also noticed worse vampire drain than others on these forums have reported previously. I seem to lose around 1% every day or two.

Mine too - after shut down a dimly lit dash & the "P" - 2022 CT4............ not key proximity related

And .....mine shows range in miles on the driver's display and the same figure followed by KM on the centre screen....... another bug I guess

MY22, never had this issue (or any other issue). Even the software is fine, has a single time where i has to “re-authenticate” my PorscheID, but that’s it really.

Ditto - Nov build 2022 CT4S - ZERO issues - everything working as it is supposed to and definitely all dash/display lights etc turn completely off after a few mins with car locked OR unlocked.

Below is an image I just took of my car sitting in my dark garage through the driver's window. Locked, armed and hasn't moved for 2 days. Key was inside. The picture is overexposed; it's not as bright as this looks but this gives you an idea. You can see the chrono clock is on as well.

If you're losing 1-2% every day or 2 that definitely sounds like vampire drain. There's been several reports of people leaving their Taycans for weeks at a time without losing 1%.
