Is this the first "material" OTA update for the Taycan? The dozens of map updates not included.

A new online software update is available for installation: High-voltage battery update (WNW2) Comfort and charging functions cannot be used during installation. Some displays, driver assistance systems and occupant protection functions may not be available. The vehicle cannot therefore be started during the process. Start the update [missing text]

This update makes it possible to maintain the short charging times typical of the Taycan over its lifetime, even with the predominant utilisation of fast charging stations. Likewise, more robustness is achieved when reaching the end of the charge. For highest charging power (max. 270kW) at the fast charging stations, please continue to use the Charging Planner to precondition the high-voltage battery. Observe the following prerequisites for a successful update: Deactivate parking pre-climatisation if necessary, activate the P button next to the selector lever, press the power button (with the driver's door closed) in order to end driving readiness, start installation on the PCM, exit the vehicle, if necessary disconnect the charging plug [missing text]
Thanks for sharing the photos @JP_21
here is the text so that it's searchable within the forum.

This update, WNW2, first appeared in the Netherlands back in February.
Interpreting:
This update makes it possible to maintain the short charging times typical of the Taycan over its lifetime, even with the predominant utilisation of fast charging stations.
^ This sounds like it's related to maintaining the charging curve relative to battery longevity/SoH over time when the owner has tended to do a lot of fast DC charging.

Likewise, more robustness is achieved when reaching the end of the charge.
^ Robustness is an odd word here. Given the context of maintaining short charging times, I think it means that the charging curve can allow a higher rate at the tail end of charging. Perhaps that is the crux of it? - Perhaps they've figured out how to safely maintain a higher rate of charge at the tail end of charging.

This still isn't showing for me, even if I go to updates app.

They are probably staging it out slowly to see if it breaks anything. I have not seen this one either.

Has anyone noticed any difference (improvement or otherwise) to the charge curve when DC charging after this update?

Not sure if I have this update from factory or not (built April 23rd) but I do notice that at 50kW chargers, I get full speed up to 95%. Then it will tapper down progressively until 100%

Not sure about high speed charging at > 1C

Pretty sure that’s always been the case on a low power DC charge. 50kW isn’t really pushing things that much in truth.

I’m wondering if they’ve tweaked things so a 300/350 kW unit will hold their rates late into the curve.

I know I know. No idea how it was supposed to be, just shared what I'm seeing. 50kW is pretty slow (0.5C)

Has anyone noticed that battery preconditions to a higher temperature following update?
Only my second DC Charge since update, the first time I thought battery temp on arrival was higher but today it was definitely higher than pre update. Battery went from 32° c to 45°c in the 15 mins before arrival at charging station.

I have noticed this as well. I am seeing ~5C higher than before the update.

I have seen preheat to above 50 C. Makes me wonder if it is healthy - can we trust that? Tempting to use battery saving DC charge mode, as five minutes more or less when fast-charging normally is unimportant to me.

Edit: I'm not sure my memory is correct about pre-heat versus temp during charging. But I have definitely seen it well above 50 C.

Got it today here in Finland as well. Though, I will they finally update the PCM unit itself so that Spotify doesn’t lag :\

That seems very close to the battery temp trigger (55C IIRC), when the thermal management will drastically restrict power delivery to the motors.

That does not sound good. Too close to Turtle mode! Once you charge at HPC you would heat up the battery to too high temperature.
have you seen this more times ?
