I am picking up my 2025 4S on Friday around mid-day (very excited). Google maps states 329 miles between dealership and home.
I fully plan to attempt this route without stopping for a charge -- do you guys think I can make it?

Spec relevant to range:
Performance battery +
21" Spyder design wheels w/ AS tires (sorry, I like the looks)
Steel roof
Active ride
Driving alone, climate controls off
(anything else?)

The exact route is unpredictable, with many options -- basically Philly to Boston which means passing thru/around NYC and traffic may be formidable. I'll be on CarPlay/Waze to choose the routing, which I normally choose the fastest, but in this case I may choose shortest routing. I don't want the trip to take forever, but a little extra time in traffic may help range due to slower travel speeds.
I know some MagicDocks in CT, and worst case a few EA options as I get closer to home. I don't plan to get stranded, but want to push this machine to see what range can be achieved.

What else would you guys suggest to make this a success?

Congrats!
I’d save the max run for another time, I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunities. For the first drive, I’d suggest just enjoying the machine (including a bout or three of acceleration), and not let the stress of mental range calculations interfere with the experience.

The absence of regen over the first few hundred miles should be expected to affect range, especially in traffic with frequent speed changes. The question is then by how much, and whether the fastest route does become the better option due to fewer decelerations ?

I would plan for a stop, but just because 325mls is quite some drive, a break for eating/driving and going somewhere is making it much better. And if you could charge at that doesn‘t hurt as well.

I’ve owned my Taycan for over 3 years and have made many long drives. While I find the range indicator pretty accurate, I don’t think you’ll be able to make this trip without charging. The max mileage I’ve seen was a little over 330 miles, but long trips tend to eat into that some. Also, when I picked my car up from the dealership, it was charged to 80%, so you may want to double check they fully charge it before pickup.

Driving at a constant speed at a moderate speed gives you the best results.
If you see the range go UP during driving you're doing ok.

There is an EA in Manchester, CT that has worked for me in the past.

That is about 230 miles of your 330. You will easily make it there..

If you are under 40% , stop there to charge up to 80%. ~15 min stop. You will have been in the car for at least 4 hours by then.

Can you tell me more about why regen would be unavailable for a few hundred miles? I'm aware the first few *minutes* of every drive will be the car avoiding regen to dust off the brakes. I did not know of a break-in period where regen would less/unavailable?

First, be sure to verify that car can be charged at dealership. Second, plan on stopping/charrging once. Simple things like rain will cut down on expected range. Third, forget using Waze. It will have you driving on roads to minimize traffic volume for no reason. Use the cars navigation system. Fourth, plan on using the Tappanzee/M Coumo bridge, the traffic at the GWB and Cross Bronx has been horrific due to road resurfacing and cable repairs. Just my 2c.

Technically its more related to new brake pads. Everytime there are new pads installed, regen won't be available for a few hundred kilometres to allow them to bed in.

Because pad replacement are so rare on EVs, it essentially feels like its just after new car delivery that it happens.

And after 6 years where pads are replaced because they get too old. But we aren't there yet.

Ok, interesting.
With this new knowledge of no regen available, I suppose any sort of stop-and-go traffic is going to eat enough range that this attempt won't be possible.
I've done this drive many times, just never in an EV that could potentially reach so close to making it.
ABRP is saying 1-stop for 5-minutes when I routed it. ABRP doesn't have anything except 2024+ for Taycan right now, but it seems to be taking the new efficiency into account by giving me 300-miles range to work with.

Adding to what others have said I think a new battery will not have the full capacity available - like a new smart-phone the full battery capacity only develops after a few charge/discharge cycles (though I'm happy to be proved wrong here ?).
