Just plan one stop if you are not used to drive EV and you don’t know how the car range will change with your drive stile etc. It takes a couple of weeks to get used to the charging and range behaviour.

You won’t be relaxed once the range gets to low.

Have a coffee, use the restroom and you will have enough range to get home and you will be much more relaxed.

just make sure you have the cards necessary to activate charging. I wouldn’t rely on plug and charge as only option

have fun !

Trying to make it through on a single push seems like needless stress on both your bladder and psyche.

As for routing, I'm sure many others have far more experience than me with this, but trying to optimize the fastest route in real time for current traffic conditions ends up being a confusing battle between PCM vs Google Maps vs Apple Maps with time lost for switching routes.
Now I just pick a route beforehand and stick with me.
Plus the GW Bridge traffic makes me so grateful that I don't experience that the rest of the year!

"I know some MagicDocks in CT, and worst case a few EA options as I get closer to home."

Stopping at an EA does hold out the possibility that you'll achieve some wonderfully bonkers speed.
However, far more like to struggle to get anywhere into the triple digits ... after waiting for an available charger, puzzling at handshake problems, etc.

At a Magic Dock you'll get only in the 130s, but you'll need only a few minutes of charging to make it home anyway on this trip.
So you'll barely have enough time to empty your bladder as you (partially) fill your battery.

But the only CT Magic Dock is in Enfield, far too north for any sensible routing.

Many options in NJ, although most of them are better for splitting up your drive into three segments.
My wife has been to Clark NJ a few times, and she's always hit the max charging curve on her i4.

Last week I went to Little Ferry NJ, which is busy, but nobody had to wait while I was there, and my monitoring of the site on the app in the days beforehand never showed a wait. Big bonus points for the H Mart (which was a novelty to me, although you have them in Boston).

A new option along the southern route is Harrison NY. I plan to check that out on my next NYC trip.

If you want to plan to swing further north, I've been to Brewster NY a few times. Right at the exit, pretty sleepy station, and adjacent Dunkin for food & bathroom.

P.S. Thread drift, but since you live in the Boston area with a choice of nearby-ish dealers, yet bought a Taycan in the Philadelphia area, curious whether your purchase there was b/c ... a spec you wanted just happened to be available on the lot? ... or this dealer had an available allocation? ... or the dealer has a good rep? (I bought my Audi at a dealer in the Philadelphia area -- took the train down there, then had a short walk past dealers for Volvo, MB, Maserati, McLaren, and Lambo!)

Also would like to know the reason for buying outside the area.
I carry an empty CamelBak bottle for emergencies, but usually unneeded for the three to four hour commute if I regulate my water intake beforehand.

I would aim to stop and charge, use the time to fiddle with the PCM, look round the car, admire it etc. enjoy the experience rather than trying to squeeze out good range.

Ok, interesting.
With this new knowledge of no regen available, I suppose any sort of stop-and-go traffic is going to eat enough range that this attempt won't be possible.
I've done this drive many times, just never in an EV that could potentially reach so close to making it.
ABRP is saying 1-stop for 5-minutes when I routed it. ABRP doesn't have anything except 2024+ for Taycan right now, but it seems to be taking the new efficiency into account by giving me 300-miles range to work with.
I would echo best to play safe and enjoy the Porsche rather than worry about the EV bit.

However, if you do try the full run you can engage auto regen and that will get you access to braking regen before the brakes have bedded in.

I'll add mine to the voices recommending against trying this trip without stopping/charging.

Coming from an ICEV, the "fill it and run-it-to-empty" mindset is tough to leave behind.

Experience will show, though, that the sooner you un-learn that learned behavior, the happier and less stressful your EV ownership will be...

No way you'll make it on a first drive, take it easy and plan a charge, enjoy the power and push-to-pass.

This discussion puts in perspective the assertion that, with one of the longest range, state-of-the-art EVs out there, range anxiety is no longer a consideration.

EVs have many attractive traits, but when it comes to point-to-point road tripping, gas still has a definitive edge.

I am picking up my 2025 4S on Friday around mid-day (very excited). Google maps states 329 miles between dealership and home.
I fully plan to attempt this route without stopping for a charge -- do you guys think I can make it?

Spec relevant to range:
Performance battery +
21" Spyder design wheels w/ AS tires (sorry, I like the looks)
Steel roof
Active ride
Driving alone, climate controls off
(anything else?)

The exact route is unpredictable, with many options -- basically Philly to Boston which means passing thru/around NYC and traffic may be formidable. I'll be on CarPlay/Waze to choose the routing, which I normally choose the fastest, but in this case I may choose shortest routing. I don't want the trip to take forever, but a little extra time in traffic may help range due to slower travel speeds.
I know some MagicDocks in CT, and worst case a few EA options as I get closer to home. I don't plan to get stranded, but want to push this machine to see what range can be achieved.

What else would you guys suggest to make this a success?
Nope, or maybe yes if you 55 mph hypermile it like a Prius, which would be no fun at all. Just do a fifteen minute coffee break along the way, at a charging location.

You'd make a great General Aviation pilot.

Driving at a constant speed at a moderate speed gives you the best results.
If you see the range go UP during driving you're doing ok.
(seeing your profile photo Dee) - I am so jealous that the EU gets Microlino EVs!!!

Ok, you guys were right taking the time to enjoy the car and not stretch to make it without a charge.
Because of the traffic, I couldn't drive for that long without a bathroom stop anyways.

I will say when I did finally stop, my range said 96 miles and I was only 117 miles from home -- so it is very close to being do-able.

Outside Hartford, I stopped at a 350kW EA station and was pulling 330kW!!
30% to 76% in 11-minutes and then I left.

Car is amazing -- I didn't have a Gen 1, so not able to post any comparison details.

As to why I got the car a little ways from home, they had a 2025 4S allocation when I inquired and it was a very smooth process. I don't road trip very often in my regular routine, so this was a nice extended time to get used to all the car functions in different roads and traffic scenarios. I could have done without the traffic, but 330 miles in one day was pretty fun.

That has to be the all-time record max charging speed for EA in New England!

Which dealer in the Philadelphia area? And sounds like you would recommend them for an out-of-state buyer?
