I've got a new 2025 Taycan, PSCBs, and I'm hearing a slight scrape/hiss from the wheel while driving.

I believe it to be brake-related as it does get louder when braking.
Shifting to neutral doesn't change it, so it's not drivetrain-related.
It tracks with vehicle motion.

From the research I've done so far:
- Some people have been told it's "normal"
- Some suggest the brake shield might be lightly contacting the rotor somewhere

Anyone else have this on new PSCBs and if so how did you resolve it?

Not normal unless its very occasional, which doesn't sound like the case here.
Yeah, it's not an alarming sound - no screeching, etc. Just sounds like some friction, like something is lightly rubbing.

I'll get it looked at if I can't resolve myself via some easy means (like spraying out the caliper with the hose etc.)

Do you know if your car was tracked?

I had the same on my J1.1 Turbo S, and I discovered this:

No more sounds after replacement. There was visible cracking with the wheels off on the sides, but after taking them off it was so much worse.

Huh! I honestly don't know.

It's not showing any signs of rash, but it does have a 1/2 clear bra installed.

It only had 115 miles on it when I picked it up.
I suppose it's possible they could be track miles?

This does not sound normal to me. The components are too new so may be need some friction and heat to get back to normal. I would try to force physical brakes to bite, I think that is always the case when reversing as I do this after washing by reversing and hard braking. Also, when you have that small window when physical brakes are engaging after a period of inactivity, I would try to brake harder than normal which is about 2 to 3 times max. I would not be doing any spraying or hosing with water which would just mask the issue.

Do a couple hard decelerations from 50+ mph, so hard that you get the ABS to trigger. It could also just be residue from the car being sat for a while.

If that doesn't solve it, I'd get the dealer to look at it. You just bought the car, and it has 115 miles on it, then it can't be normal wear, so they should fix it regardless.

When i picked my new 24 GTS ST with PSCBs it had a slight noise from the breaks on low speed, but it disappeared over time, i assume it's part of the break-in for the rotors - they will turn mirrored over time.

This sound is like the brake sound except it persists without braking. I wonder if a piston is stuck or something.

As others have noted I’ll get a dealership to look at it when I can. It unfortunately won’t be the shop I bought from because they (Porsche Ontario) are 390 miles away. Great experience with them though!

I had this happen to my car once. Somehow it coincided with a wheel change (which I did myself so I know nothing was banged up). Tried taking wheel off and cleaning up with compressed air, didn’t see any debris, but did not solve the problem. So went a different route - a few very hard brakings and it went away. Then came back a week later. Couple more hard brakings and went away for good.

Since then, I try to opportunistically do a couple of hard brakings every 2-4 months. During summer road trips I usually get an opportunity or two during some high speed passing maneuvers, but in the winter I have to plan to go out for a drive with empty roads.

All the old exec cars at Stevens Creek Porsche have the same weird 1/2 bra. At first I thought someone keyed them, but then I noticed the lines were too perfect.

Maybe it was some kind of demo or press car.

I’ll get the 1/2 steamed off and do it right, but I’m new (ish) to the area and don’t have a trusted shop yet. I had one I’ve used for decades in Dallas that I loved and trusted with every car.

Need a place that does it right; rolls the edges, doesn’t use pre-cut kits with gaps etc.

I'm taking my GTS to OCDetailing in Fremont for ceramic coating this morning. There is a ton of info on them on youtube and the various car forums (they don't use precuts). They sent me this taycan pictures link when I asked for a quote.

I see they are Opticoat Pro+ certified, do you know if they install the latest Opti Sheild product that is much thicker then a ceramic coating and has ppf like properties?
