Must be a CA thing as far as the markup on a Demonstrator car with warranty ticking away. Option choices do not make much sense.

Prior to buying my Turbo GT, I watched the churn for anything GTS and higher for about a year--getting smart about the market. I noticed that when a dealer would initially display a coming-soon demo car as 'available by XYZ date", the price would be unrealistically high, then when that car would get into said dealer's inventory for sale, the price would get recalibrated to be appropriate (lower). These cars also don't initially show as CPO until they are in inventory--the CPO status gets updated when the dealer has the car ready to sell. Watch this one, and I bet the same cycle will happen.

For example: there was a demo car 25 Turbo GT at San Luis Obispo dealer that did exactly this cycle as your GTS example is now appearing to be in early stages of. That Turbo GT showed as looming for a month, at above MSRP, then once it had live pics and was on that dealer's lot for sale, they lowered the price to MSRP minus 40, then minus 50, then 60, and I think it sold for about 200K (MSRP was 260) after about 1.5 months. And, they updated it to show as CPO...I watched this cycle occur for ~6 different Turbo S and GT cars in past 6 months or so.

My rule of thumb is, at least right now, MSRP minus 60-70K for a demo or slightly used CPO car.

Call me crazy but if I were asking a premium for a PTS car I think I'd try and make sure there were actual photos in the ad...

I'll give them a pass on that as they probably don't have the car yet. I ran across that a lot during my research before buying my GTS.

I also ran across dealers advertising CPO cars before they went through the process, one of which took two or three months to get through it (I have to assume they needed a part but they didn't share with me).

other than PTS, it's a very typical build to $175k for a sedan.

And no, even in CA, there is no ADM for a GTS. No way this car WITH CPO miles will sell with an ADM. This isn't covid time and with existing supply (unsold allocations) sitting on the lot. I'm certain, I can walk into any dealership in CA, get a configuration allocation at MSRP.

UK dealers did this in 2022 when demand was through the roof and supply limited.

Comedy central doing it now. Unless someone really, really wants Yacht Club Blue (!).

I was also watching the market for a while for a GTS specifically. At some point I went from looking for a perfect spec to saying “ anything over about 160k, I might as well negotiate hard and get what I want.” What I found after a good conversation with the dealer is that in CA, they don’t care to negotiate because EVs are a dime a dozen and he told me that their demographic in LA, doesn’t need to haggle for the $$$. West coast arrogance, so I chose ATL instead. I’m keeping it long term barring any car craziness, so I couldn’t mentally settle for basic stock at that price point. So either I wouldn’t touch that spec for maybe 140k or I’d get high spec for a good discount and walk away truly fulfilled. Why spend extra on PTS vs. extra spec’s. For as much as we spend on extra PPF, I could just color wrap a car! All good I suppose, so long as we get one of course.

As per CoolDadlo’s post above, I found an east coast premier Porsche dealership who was willing to go nicely below MSRP ($25K below MSRP on a CPO Macan EV Turbo with 1,538 miles in showroom condition). I will be giving my local dealer the edge if a) they will be price reasonable, but even more importantly b) my local must have a hard/firm with commission number allocation for a 2027 GTS Sports Turismo. I want to buy local but am not bending over to do that.
