Absolutely, and I agree that one should very much take into consideration the local conditions for the different seasons. With the very high summer temps England seems to get only more of, a dedicated summer tyre should be the choice.Personally I would NOT run a performance saloon car like Taycan in UK/Europe on “our” all-season spec tyres all year round.
Conversely I would and I do run the certified Porsche ‘winter’ tyres - during the colder months. Note the different size and wheel profile to our Porsche spec summer tyres - which also makes a difference as much as specific compound and tyre construction, certainly for my Taycan variant.
For my area, the shoulder seasons where neither summer or winter tires are optimum, just seem to get longer and longer. Hence my interest in trying an all-season solution when my current winter tires are done. Would be an interesting experiment, and with a full set of summer tires in the garage, one could easily shift around if summer performance turned out to be too much of a compromise...?
