I would be very interested to know what issues you have had with the car over 5 years (or that you know of if you haven't been the owner since new) and whether you have an warranty.
I have very many issues with my car since 2020 unfortunately. I bought one of the first production cars that came to France in late 2019. The lockdown we had with the pandemic meant I coud only pick up the car in May 2020.I did purchse the Porsche extended warranty on my car since we only get 2 years warranty in France. And for me that has paid off. Car had red circle of death in Stockholm and we live in the south east of France.

I had lots of hardware failures the first two years with communication modules, LTEmodules , Gateway modules, etc etc . Assistance module replaced. 2 Battery modules replaced under warranty, High voltage battery controller replaced, AC charger replaced, Cabin Heater replaced 4 times, car flooded with water from unconnected air intake. Several parking sensors replaced. 12 volt battery replaced maybe twice?
’Plus of course all sw and hw recalls such as brake hoses etc. In the report from CT14 the car has spent 250 days in the workshop.

To me the car is abit like Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde.

The best car I have ever owned with regards to driving dynamics
The worst car I have ever owned due to all faults, niggles and software failures.

The summary is in the answer to the question:

Would I buy a Porsche again?

NO WAY!

I’d be interested to know who’s getting these ARB6 / ARB7 related OTA updates first. Is it based on
  • Age of car
  • Mileage covered
  • Local availability of replacement batteries/modules (i.e geographic location)
  • Porsche dice rolling (i.e. random)
My 15,000 mile 2020 car is still waiting:(
I'm also low mileage a few under 13000 a 2022. I' m giving an update on my comment. I just called PCNA last week and was told I needed to go into the dealership for the update. There are different versions. I had the update last Friday. Everything went fine.

No sign of an update yet for my 2020, 34K miles, only got the ARB6 letter, I dont see anything in the app.

Just hope this update doesn't detect false positives, hard-limiting me to 80%, then have to make an appointment, just to have the dealer go "we found nothing wrong, here's your car back".

Received this message on drive home today. Since when did Porsche start doing OTA software updates or have I missed something? Anyone done this yet.
Ps I've had the map 'updates' every few weeks for quite a while.
The bonkers thing is, the Taycan actually has dedicated hardware/ECU specifically for over the air updates….but you’d barely know it, unless someone told you ?

…I had the OTA battery monitoring update the other week and also the OTA update a month or two ago for the telemetry module (which was doubtless now) the enabler for this latest update.

Wow! Quite a list.
I have been mulling whether to keep mine beyond the three year mark. My list of recalls (all the regular battery ones) and problems has been limited to a new panoramic roof (cracked); vibration (eventually resolved and due to a buckled rear wheel); very poor mileage - I have never seen more than 230 miles on a 100% charge on a hot day, and in winter its 200 miles; I have now elevated this one up to Porsche UK customer relations as the dealer can't explain it.
Otherwise I also think it's an amazing car to drive - a slighter smaller and lighter one would be even better!
So I shall keep mulling - based on the fact that the majority of the depreciation has already taken place I am currently erring on the side of keeping it with extended warranty.

I often sit at home and feel that it’s time to replace the Taycan. I have rested many EV’s from many brands. But none have given me the feeling I would have a better experience. My use case is for long road trips, not daily local driving. The the driving dynamics, comfort, range with charging speed at DC chargers come to light.

Then I go and drive the Taycan and all the thoughts are reset! It isjust so great driving it on a long road trip, winter as well as summer.

Same production date as his on mine, late 2019, one of the first.

Close to no issues for me, but nevertheless a stressful ownership, as I like to stay informed and always worried about what might go wrong with it, when I see cases like @Scandinavian

However, I would also not own another Porsche. The reason I bought Porsche was for their "customer first" approach, which proved to be a lie, with 0 communication from Porsche, 0 transparency in terms of recalls and plans for the car. Unlike others on the forum, I do value respect, and when I pay close to 300.000 on a car, I would very much like to be treated with respect by the brand (nothing to do with the dealerships, which were great).

@Scandinavian let me know when you get your update, I am betting on we both getting it same day.

Have you tried Lucid, or Xiaomi? Very comparable to j1.1.
And of course, j1.2 taycan with active ride, which stands above everything right now in terms of driving dynamics.

The Xiaomi, would have to be imported of course, if you want to own it, or wait until some time next year, but for test driving, you can find it at showrooms.

I have looked at the Lucid, but do not like the looks. But not been able to test drive one Unfortunately
Xiaomi I have not seen any at all.
’’Where are there showrooms for them? I have to agree the Xiaomi looks very promising especially the one with updated brakes?

I think there will be a huge shift in the technology going forward. BMW Neue Klasse is the most promising platform from the European car co’s, with there core computing. Will do away with all these 100 ECu’s in the car. Interesting Wht Audi will do with Rivian as well.

The one I drove was imported by a local garage, for a car convention/meetup - so your best bet is to see which car convention will bring one.
Officially, directly from Xiaomi, I believe only in Munich they have registered cars, for now.

By way of an update.
ARB6 update installed but OPC wanted to check all ok. Also they wanted to do the headlight update.
Meanwhile, I'd been in touch with Porsche Customer Service and explained my disappointment over the last several months with various issues.
Asked for and received 1 year extended warranty which will kick in at end of year 3. Just in case it helps others in their negotiations.

Has anyone in the US received the ARB6 OTA update? I have seen ARB7 in the forum not ARB6....
Got ARB6 yesterday, started the download and finished in about 20 minutes.

I'm still waiting for this OTA. I thought it was only ARB7 that was OTA, and ARB6 was a service visit.

I have received OTAs before, but I don't have the send car data options checked. Is that a requirement for this specific OTA?

You got me thinking maybe I was wrong. Went out and tried to find out the update in the car. Unfortunately only got a couple pictures and am not sure if someone can tell which update.
