I would like to hear from others that have done the battery recall ARB6 etc as well as the reprogramming after the brake hose recall!

My car has completely lost the Smart Lift function now. It is not even visible at all in the menu any longer. All GPS locations for Smart Lift have disappeared and no automatic lifts are working?

I have tried the 2 finger salute but no dice. Menu item is not visible at all.

All my seat settings and mirror settings that I had programmed are also lost. My seat was so far forward that it must have been a very short person that parked my car at the charger. I thought the seat and mirror settings would have been stored on line and updated once I have a Connect communication??? I thought that was one of Porsche specials with Connect that you could transfer the settings to a loan car by logging in?

I start to wonder if this just is incompetence by my Porsche dealer or if this is systematic for Porsche.

Getting even more disappointed with the brand and service.

Since you asked, my Taycan has been perfect since it came off the production line and after every subsequent recall.

That happened to my car too after the dealer reset my car (to fix a different problem). As a result, when they brought the car back, they scraped it up my driveway!

Other settings returned after I logged back into the car - I wonder whether some but not all are saved on the server end. You could try logging out and back in, in the car?

I tried the two finger salute. No change
I tried to log out and log back in. No change

But a 5 minute disconnect of the negative pole on the 12 volt battery solved the issue.
’Smart Lift is back in the menu as well as all saved positions for Smart Lift!

No idea why, but it did work out fine for me?

Wanted to provide my feedback.

So after porsche west london had been jerking me around since June/July 2024, 3 times knocking back my recall service appointment, at least once the day before I was supposed to take it into the shop, they finally offered that I could leave it with them without a courtesy car, and I'd get it back some time in 2-3 months.

I promptly told them to go fuck themselves and got an appointment at porsche reading for 2 days later, and I gotta give a huge shout out to them. Everything which made buying and servicing the car from mayfair/west london easily the worst car experience I've ever had (seriously, even budget brands obliterate them in service.) was not present at reading.

They were extremely communicative, wonderfully helpful, and very accommodating when I had to last minute cancel the pickup due to work calling me in at 4am. then I made a major ass out of myself by showing up to pick it up several days later, not realizing the service department had been closed for several hours. They still managed to get my car back to me and again I can't express how appreciative I am of how they did. Honestly salvaged my opinion of porsche as a brand.

(Now if only they hadn't done me the disservice of offering me 65k for the car they sold me 2 years ago for 178k, I'd feel better ?)

in the middle of purchasing a 2022 Taycan GTS sedan.
I asked about recalls that night still be open - the dreaded ARB6 is one of them (alongside WRS1).
I said that these issues should be remedied before I take delivery of the car.
I have been told that that isn’t possible because the ARB6 software rollout has been pushed back until the 2nd half of 2025!!!!

I am seriously considering cancelling the contract.

Translation:
„New customer letter from Porsche Germany

Contrary to the original announcement that the optimised battery diagnostic software would be available in the first quarter of 2025, availability is delayed to the second quarter of the battery diagnostic software. Half of the year 2025. Porsche Deutschland will Inform customers via cover letter. This letter is currently in the final review and will be made available in the annex afterwards.“

You should determine the impact of each recall - & the usage constraints that Porsche/the safety authority in your country seeks to levy upon the owner.

My UK ARA4 recall was completed July-August 24. Analysis of the car’s logs showed one module needed replacing and the others were ok. I thought that was it.

Last week I received the ARB6 recall. Its impacts are:
- do not charge under/in or adjacent to a building
- workshop attention every 60 days
- maximum charge 80%

From this it seems that the ARA4 recall and Porsche’s previous analysis, both OTA and the VAL submission that was the basis of the module replacement cannot be relied upon.
The delay in availability of the ‘smoke alarm’ monitoring sw also seems to indicate that its development is troublesome.

- Has any one else who has already had a module swap recall now received ARB6?
- Compared to mine above, do the constraints notified differ by country?

Yes and yes.

I had WRS0 - BMS software applied this week (not OTA). In UK we don't have the ARB anything that I've seen so USA vs EU.

What you stated above make the car useless as you can’t charge it on your own driveway. What is the fix for this and does OPC say about it ?

Awaiting a Porsche GB response.
I’ve also challenged the DVSA- the charging location constraint originates from the UK safety regulator.
I can’t charge the car on my drive, in my garage, or at most public charging locations, as these are also usually adjacent to buildings. The regulator is less bothered about setting fire to other adjacent cars which are being charged.
I assume UK Porsche dealers would also be unable to charge any 2019-2/2024 Taycan which is under an ARB6 recall. Which makes them very difficult to maintain or sell.

No ARB6 in UK?
@Bennachie

See #114 above and

#316

Affects all Taycans produced up to 1/2/2024. ARB6/7 notifications were sent to UK owners this month. Six is where no OTA log is available, seven is where OTA log analysis is available. For last years recall my car was is the ‘OTA available’ camp, for this year it isn’t - but I’m still receiving OTA updates!

Thanks for the quick response. That sounds like a nightmare. Are all Taycan J1 made between 2020 and 2024 affected by this recall ?
