Porsche Netherlands has been assisting me well, but unfortunately they can’t do much more than check the logs and ask whether the individual ECU updates they perform make any difference. At this pace it could take months before a solution is found—if it ever comes this way.

I just got my car back today with a new HUD firmware. During the test drives at the dealer over the past two days the issue didn’t occur, which means they cannot escalate it to Porsche AG.

That’s why I’d like to ask here if anyone happens to have the contact details of Kim Stieber, Product Owner Infotainment at Porsche Digital.

As a consumer I can’t open a support ticket or report a bug directly, so my only options are reaching out via LinkedIn or email. If anyone could share a contact, I’d really appreciate it — please feel free to send it via DM/PM.

I do understand that for employees it can be inconvenient when customers try to reach out directly, but in my case essential features like navigation, InnoDrive and PIRM that I paid a significant amount for have suddenly become unusable.

Did the HUD fix the issue? Have you seen it happen again?

I got a full refund for the Porsche Connect fee today as mine is about to renew but they asked I used the money to pay for the service to renew which I’m happy to do.

I’ve supplied them with as many details as everybody has reported and hoping they find something

Since @chun doesn’t have HUD it can’t be fixed this way. Will test drive tomorrow again, probably with a GoPro to record it with some timestamps so my dealer can escalate.

I already sent videos to the dealer I made an appointment with for “an overall software update of the car” which he says should take 2h and fix this. I somehow doubt it, but sadly I will find out only in October.

I have also sent it to porsche mobility ch; which usually escalate to engineers in germany pretty fast. But seeing as its vacation season, it may take a while

Edit: very legal videos taken with my go pro 😉😉

Thoughts on contact Kim Stieber directly? He is the PO so his team is responsible for the mess. He might even be the one keeping us on the 3885 branch instead of the 4xxx one.

I mean, you can try. I’d be shocked if he even reads it 😅

The reason we are kept on 3882/5 and not updated to 4360 is money. 150.000 cars multiplied by 6h of service = much money.

They could have done it when they updated first few thousands of my25 from 3882, but they chose not to, and save money.

So I don’t think he’s the one making that call, but the finance guys

The ugly thing is that while downgrading my 22KW charger to the 11KW charger, they updated nearly everything in the car so the update to 4360 wouldn‘t had caused further costs. having different software versions for same hardware is gonna cost you sooner or later. The main problem not having OTA is imposed on the customer.

From what I have read in owner manual and elsewhere, charging planner must be enabled for automatic preconditioning of HV battery.

The ideal temperature is 35, not 40, from what I remember for fast charging.

Also, plugging in a charger, of any speed, will turn off any pre-conditioning. So if it didn't do that, something is definitely wired.

I have seen my battery reach as much as 50 degrees on one occasion, but it was in summer south of Italy, when outside it was 45 and I was high speed charging. I am assuming there weren't 40 degrees outside in your case
Well that was my problem then and I have repeated gthe same situation here locally. My preheating does not turn off when plugging in a Tesla SuC, 150 kWElectre or350 kW Ionity. It stayed on. Guessing have a SW issue somewhere? I will have to ask the dealer for a check.

My car has always preheated the battery to 41 C before stops at DC stations if the route planner Is engaged.

I had no problems when driving through France at 40 - 45 C during the summer. Battery was stable at 31 Call the time, but preheated to 41 Cwhen navigating to a DC charge . Mostly using Ionity for reliability.

Mine started freezing right around the time of the BMS. I couldn't give you an exact date, I just remember noticing the HUD freezing on several journeys around June/July time. But didn't think anything of it.

Going to try this workaround at the weekend - I rarely use the Charge Planner anyway, so no massive loss to me (not helpful to others thou), but I'm sure there will be an occasion when I need it and it all should work together.
I did have the freeze on my way to the Porsche Centre in Sweden and missed the turn off on the motorway. Resulted in a long detour before I could turn around.

So in my case it was before the BMS update!

So; with Porsche Charge Planner turned off, while navigating to a charger, the battery would still precondition. So good news, as a workaround.

Bad news, even with the porsche charge planner off, on a longer trip (200-600km), the map would reset every 10-20 mins and delete the whole trip. When that would not happen, the map would get an updated and delete all intermediary stops, including the charging stops.

For me, neither option, having planner off or on, works good. Both are unusable in scenarios where I actually need to use fast chargers - planner on = freezes; planner off = resets constantly .

my Dealership in Hamburg would've been happy to update the PCM to .4360
PAG vetoed, so they didn't do it.
They would jeopardize any "approved" claim afterwards.

Your dealerships would of course be more than happy to charge 6-9h of service time for updates to PAG.

Mine too; but porsche central pushes against it with every given occasion; which is funny, since they released it in PIWIS as avaliable for j1.1

Long drive today from the uk back to Holland. First hour or so, navigation was perfect. Then I got one of my frequent ‘navigation data has been updated’ messages and after that it started to go wrong.

During this time I had another update come in. Data still messed up. The app crashed and pcm restarted. After that, navigation was ok again j til another update came in which resulted in the trio being replanned and then I had issues again.
Once back in France, navigation forked perfectly all the way back to home in the Netherlands. No updates downloaded during this time.

I need more data and analysis but I’m starting to think it’s to do with ‘stuck’ navigation updates being downloaded. Or maybe partially and incompletely downloaded leading to corrupt data and the issues.

Sometimes an update gets through ok and all is well. Other times it comes through garbled. This causes (a) the issues we see and (b) a new attempt to download when the system thinks or realises we don’t have the latest data.

It would also explain the fact that I keep getting lots or updates in one day and I think there’s a correlation between how many updates I see and the crapness of the navigation.

I still wonder why they refuse to update to 4360. Is there any customer oriented thinking left ? The car does not drive faster, longer or better. It is a simple UI update for something that was learned along the EE journey to mitigate its irks and quirks.
