This may be a well known phenomenon but it does seem that people get way more motion sickness in my taycan vs my previous car - alfa giulia qv.

The alfa had about 510bhp and was driven in same spirited manner.

Think it is the lack of audio warning that bat shit crazy mode is engaged that does it - seems to be less of an issue if I have the artificial sound switched on.

Have noticed similar?

Yes, this is a known phenomenon and has been reported by several drivers on this forum if they have passengers in the rear. Sport Sound does help but the most you can do is to be sure you do not have any Regen enabled (On or Auto) and drive in Normal to allow the car to move as naturally as possible. Also, if the rear passengers are looking at their phones then motion sickness is almost a given.

It’s worse in Teslas with stronger regen and stiffer suspensions in the older models.

I haven’t found this in my Taycan as the regen is less strong and suspension is sportier but still better.

We have experienced the opposite with my motion sickness prone nine year-old compared to my previous small SUV.Could it have something to do with the active ride option?

My wife complains about that in my Tesla a lot; I have a lead foot and with regen it's the roller coaster effect. She hasn't complained yet in my Taycan however (I have PAR and generally always have the comfort settings active).

Don't think his car has it, but if you turn on the "Turn comfort" in PAR that instantly makes everyone sick in the car... it just doesn't feel right. I have it off.
"Pitch comfort" is fine, helps the car keep more flat when accelerating or braking, and does not seem to have a such effect.

The alfa with 510 hp has turbolag and gearbox lag - everything happens with some delay. If you drive it the same way the Taycan is completely ridiculous.

Hate to tell you, but it's most likely you and not the car or the EV being the problem ;)

Yes. So far, this has only happened when my son is in the passenger seat. When he is driving the Taycan, there is no motion sickness. His car is a Toyota GR Corolla. Other passengers have thus far had no motion sickness.

It has a lot to do with the driver.

It’s also worse in cars with one pedal drive (like Tesla).

Cruise control helps, active sound helps. But mostly it’s the driver not constantly changing speeds while cruising.

I've found passengers don't get sick when I don't engage "bat shit crazy" mode.

This has been my experience as well. The Tesla was much worse. In the Taycan, with PAR and comfort settings engaged, my wife often reads and sleeps without looking up, even when I'm cruising along and/or passing at higher speeds. Curves with the active ride are sublime.

The advice I got on advanced driver training was ”ease and squeeze” - stomping on the accelerator is very tempting but also very uncomfortable for the passenger. Ease off, gently squeeze on.
