I have contacted a YouTube , he is expert on porsche cars and he confirmed with me that the option doesn’t come with connectors but will have the wiring done , which make it much easier to connect external equipments .

Did he share with you you what the pre-wiring looks like (where is it, which wires/connectors)?

What’s a standard dashcam connector? 12V cigarette lighter one?

Something that can be fitted to a variety of low voltage connectors. It could simply terminate in MicroUSB or look something like this:

Doesn’t appear to be the case in the UK configurator. I wonder why the Irish one is linking the two together?

I could not add it to my RWD order without added a glass roof that I absolutely don’t want. Maybe the glass roof is require if it’s a saloon?

Good spot. When I looked on the configurator, I was checking a CT4S which didn’t add the requirement. I wonder why there’s difference between the saloon and the CT?

I would not call those standard dashcam plugs since the dashcams don't come with cable that would connect to it. Most dashcams come with an open wire to tie to anything you want and sometimes a 12V cigarette lighter cable. As long as the pre-wire has 12V wired to any type connector, you can always tap it. Personally I hope it's both switched and unswitched 12V wired up there.

Sorry, I wasn’t completely clear… I’ve placed my order but waiting on production so I don’t have hands on experience with it, yet. But, I’m gonna go with the FitCam when the time comes mostly because of the OEM look and the wiring seems pretty easy. I’m not concerned with the battery back up and parking mode of the BV.

The only info I have regarding that is what I’ve read in other posts. It was mentioned that a law was passed at some point that prevents manufacturers from voiding a warranty for a modification that had nothing to do with the warranty claim. So, in this case, it sounds like if you had an issue with the mirror itself or maybe the rain sensor, theoretically, the warranty claim could be denied but if you were to have a warranty claim on the power steering (for example), they couldn’t void the warranty because you tapped in to the rain sensor. The FitCam looks relatively simple enough to install so if I were to have an issue around the mirror area, I’d just uninstall the FitCam before taking it in for work.
