Flame suit on.

This is my 5th Tesla (ducks!!). I think this might be my new DD. Butt dyno says it's faster than my 4S, will need to do some canyon driving this weekend. But Tesla has hit this out of the park. Suspension is best I've ever driven in a Tesla. 2 previous X ('16 90D, '22 Raven,), current '22 X Plaid. Also have a '17 Model 3. the new M3P is the best manufactured Tesla I've ever owned. Not a single flaw for rejection during pick up. Stealth Grey, White Interior.

The bucket seats are awesome, not adjustable. I still love my 18-way, but the Tesla one is soft yet firm. I love the Porsche active seats where it hugs you during hard braking.

Build quality has vastly improved over the years @ Tesla. This new active suspension is amazing. I think if they put this across the line to other Model 3s and Ys, they'll sell a another bazillion of them.

It's no Porsche, but for 1/3 the price, it's a damn bargain. yes, comparing apples to oranges. I think if Tesla keep doing this, legacy manufacturers will need to keep reinventing. Was planning on ordering a Macan Turbo (new car year, but now spent it on the M3P), yes I know, completely different cars. Macan Turbo optioned out to $131k. Now I kinda want to see what they're going to do with a refreshed Model Y Performance.

5th Tesla, eh? Well, I stopped at 4 (stalkless yoke stopped me from getting the Plaid, and the stopped my wife from getting another S or X). Out of curiosity, did you consider the Ionic 5N? I haven't driven it myself, nor am I am fan of simulated ICE car driving (which you don't have to use), but from everything I hear it should be a great M3P competitor, looks even more practical than an M3P, and with more features, including drive parameters/features customizations (and an 800V battery too).

PS> Saw the new M3 on the road recently, really liked the rear lights (and turn signals). Probably noticed because currently working on retrofitting my Taycan tail lights to Euro style to get dedicate turn signals (which the new M3 has standard in US) instead of a combo stop-light/turn-signal.

I thought the new model 3s had adaptive damping and not active suspension. Active suspension is a whole different ballgame.

I had five Tesla's also before picking up my 2024 Taycan GTS. Never going back. Straight line speed no longer captivates me. Style and handling are off the charts for Porsche.

There's been plenty of praise for the refreshed Model 3P. I drove the dual-motor LR version and was impressed overall - a nice improvement over my '22 in most ways.

I'm with you in being very curious about seeing those improvements brought to the Y, because it's likely to only add to that model's stunning market success.

Enjoy!

thought about the 5N for a sec. Dealer markup. Wife hates the styling.

Correct, adaptive, not active. was typing fast and mixed the 2.

Happy to hear it (said the over weight share holder).
IMO, they are (were) 2 trick pony's, straight line acceleration and tech. Neither of which are high on my priority list but they are for the masses. It's good to hear they are addressing many of their flaws.
When tesla thrives, we all thrive.

I don’t get the speed aspect, I have a 4s and it objectively goes plenty fast enough for a ticket without trying. I don’t know that I need faster for me for my daily driver.

I have a first gen 2018 model 3P that I gave to my 16 yo son to drive to school. It was my 5th Tesla and I found it the worst build of them all and very twitchy at speed(I have the speed locked now at 70 and in chill mode for him)

Anyway I just got out of my 2022 turbo S (my second Taycan) and sold my lightning for a new raptor R. Trying to figure out my new city daily and I was actually considering the new M3p after reading and watching a few stelllar reviews. Seems like for 55k it’s hard to beat right now.

Yes, performance to bang to value is awesome.
Yes, I understand the M3P is never gonna replace anybody's Taycan here. I'm just saying it's a great bargain for somebody who wants a daily and weekend canyon carver, and yes, this will do canyon runs like the best of them.

I 100% agree with this. We're going to look at a 2nd BEV shortly and in fact have put an 'early entry' nominal fee to be on the list for the R5 release. But an Tesla M3 LR *has* to be on our list because they really are good basic cars. I've spent a bit of time driving some non-electric cars recently and to me a decent BEV is the only way I want to go for daily driving. The only thing I don't like is the lack of stalks and the lack of display in front of me, but they can be worked around imo. Anyway, exactly this. I'd not be carving canyons with it, but as a really nice, practical reliable and smooth-driving car they're incredibly hard to beat on value and tech
