When the dealer submits the actual order a final check is made and advice given on any option which won't be available for your specific build. Once locked and no notifications on issues with options then you're 99% certain of being home and dry.

Situation changed very recently and if listed on the configurator then it will have become available again. Prior to this GTS models and above were able to spec Bose (for example).

Excellent, thanks. Fingers crossed - I've got nothing massively against stock audio ad previous BOSE systems in Audis haven't been great but would rather have than not in this car

I think Bose is great in the Taycan.

I'm curious, what is the upcharge for Bose? I think in the US it is standard equipment? I don't recall being given a choice. I am a big fan of Bose and have multiple Bose products, but the Taycan version is not going to blow you away.

It’s not standard on the RWD and wasn’t available for the last several months but is available again as of last week. It’s in the $1400-$1600 range, I can’t remember.

So for $1400 (on top of what you would have gotten anyway), I'd expect a kick-ass system. Think of what that would buy for a home audio receiver. But the Taycan Bose is just OK. I didn't compare to the standard audio but good sound is critical to me, so I probably would have paid for it out of fear the standard radio would sound like mono. I guess this is not helpful to those future owners frustrated by the current situation, but an aftermarket solution may have a better ROI.

I was ready to pay for it when it was part of the package that has the ventilated seats, pano roof, etc. but it was removed before my freeze date so I’m stuck with the base. I wasn’t about to pay $7k for the Burmester. My car goes to production this week and I asked if I could add Bose and that’s not possible but I can’t say I’m disappointed. As you said, I could a sub and an amp or something if I find it lacking.

I agree with you and now i understand why I never optioned it as it was included in that premium package. I hope they reduced the cost of that package in that case? Crazy how supply issues have affected near everyone but we have to remember that people that cannot afford this car are probably affected in more profound ways....

Agreed! I can’t complain. The package price was reduced by $1600.

I think Bose is great in the Taycan.

I don't know about "great", but at least it's better than in the 911

Personally I wouldn't spec the car without the Bose, and I'd consider the Burmester - there's definitely room above the Bose. It's one of the ~3 options I sometimes wish I'd ticked.

I have not heard the Burmester system in the Taycan, but I have in on my "21 992 Targa and it is just phenomenal. I have the Bowers & Wilkins system in my '20 BMW M850 Gran Coupe and the Burmester is simply better on many levels.

So. I added bose back to my 4CT build a few days before lock date. The dealer said jt was ok... No idea what will turn up as there is a cross with circle on it.
