[Updated] My Porsche App updated w/ new interface and functions

Thaks for that! I use the App Store a lot and never had to do that for other apps when an Update is available.

My app updated automatically. I opened the app after not having used it for a few days and after being asked to log in, there it was in all its splendour. Don’t know if it’s any good though… I have had no data connection in the car for two weeks, and it is booked into the workshop next Monday for the umpteenth time to try and resolve the issue.

Total rubbish that the app says “just updated”, as I know that it hasn’t connected to the car since 13th January.

Just updated is referring to the details about your car was just updated on your app. Say if the app server could not communicate with your car then it would have said “updated an hour ago” or something like that.

Sorry not buying it - having worked for a major multinational corp for over 30 years and as a private contractor I don’t disagree with your pts. re constraints in the corp. space, believe me I am more than familiar but this is not an excuse for the delays we’ve seen in the Porsche app dev over 3+ years.

Again I never said the progress was bad (so the response a little OTT ), just underwhelming.

Competitor corporations with entirely similar constraints are imo miles ahead with their app dev - my prev 2014 M4 app arguably had more functionality and most def our lowly Mini 2024 app has everything and more compared to the MyPorshe app including fully functioning phone. Desktop widgets and Watch complications. Despite working with Apple directly Porsche couldn’t manage to provide a watch complication!?

Again, I’m sure we’ll get there but color me less than impressed with the rate of updates to date.

Go to the watch on your iPhone and look for My Porsche in the apps list and click install which will install it on your watch. Mine doesn’t show up on my watch face, but it may just be the face I’m currently using. I can only see it in my app list on the watch. Still cool tho?

I assume the 12v battery in the car will go flat overnight due to constant updates? ?

Car just put itself into privacy mode. Wtf!

Unfortunately, quite similar range for my 4S CT with 21” wheels during freezing winter conditions.

I just noticed something new. The route planner now offers the setting to not only add the desired SoC at arrival, but also the minimum SoC for each charge point.

Last summer I did a road trip from NL to Spain, and in France a few times I arrived at my charging point with 5% left. That did result in a lot of stress, with this new setting I’m definitely going to have a more relaxed/ stress free road trip knowing I will charge with a SoC at around 15-20%

Good observation, I had not discovered that possibility.

However I just checked in my app with my car and even with the charger arrival set at 5% , I will not make it. The charging stop is further away then what my range is now. So not much help for me.

I can’t decide if I should be happy that they improved the app or annoyed over how half-arsed it is. As usual when it comes to Porsche and software, they manage to take it 85% of the way and then botch it up right at the end.

So they've updated the main view to use a completely different design language. Looks great, but they couldn't be bothered to update anything else to align with this design so now the main view looks completely different than anything else in the entire app. Now they're essentially running two fundamentally different UI's in the same app.

Also, somehow they managed to introduce an overflow issue where the content stretches beyond the viewport on a standard iPhone 15 Pro, creating a few pixels worth of vertical scrollbar for no reason. Adding a constraint to scale the gigantic photo of the car at the top to make everything fit in the viewport is absolutely trivial, yet for whatever reason, they couldn't be bothered to do that.

I have updated the My Porsche App to iPhone 15 Pro Max and all is fine. However, having added the widget to Desktop of my MacBook Pro, whilst it shows up on the screen with the latest sync'd info, SoC, etc, the actual app won't load up or open when I click on it. I get the message 'Open My Porsche On iPhone To Continue'.

It makes no difference if the app is open on iPhone or not, I can't seem to get any further.

I have location services ON and have latest software updated, I have removed and reinstalled the widget, rebooted the Mac, etc, but to no joy.

Anyone seen similar issues and if so how was it remedied. Cheers

Can you add the Porsche widget to a watch face?

I can see the contents of the Porsche widget on my watch, but “MyPorsche” doesn’t appear as an option when I try and edit the watch face?

Am I missing something obvious?!
